On cask at the Bruery

A: The pour is a lightly cloudy golden color with a finger's worth of white head.

S: Plenty of nice citrus notes including grapefruits and tangerines, along with a subtle floral character. However, there is a lot of alcohol coming through as well as some urine.

T: A more pronounced yeast character to this beer with some spice and floral notes. Slightly bitter with some subtle citrus flavors, nowhere near what I picked up on the aroma.

M: The body is medium and the carbonation is certainly low, but pleasant.

D: This was not what I was hoping for, especially from a cask utilizing one of my favorite hops.

On cask at The Bruery,

A: Pours a cloudy gold with a soapy mild white head, some lace.

S: Definite Belgian notes, apple, some pine from the hops, bitter melon, reminds me a bit of Nelson Sauvin or even Summit more than Cascade.

T: Compared to the Ivanhoe, the hop character is nowhere near the forefront. This beer goes back a lot to its Belgian-style base. Lots of Belgian yeast esters, apple and pear, hint of bubblegum, lots of lemon from the American hops.

M: Mild carbonation, medium light body, fairly smooth.

D: Not as good as the Ivanhoe, but I still liked it quite a bit.
