On-tap at the Bruery
A: The pour is a dark amber color with a finger or more of off-white head.
S: A decent hoppiness with plenty of toffee, toast, and nutty malt notes. There is a bit of chocolate to the aroma. The hops are very perfumey with lots of citrus peel and aromatics.
T: The citrus and hop flavors are sort of muted, but there's still a really nice bitterness to it. Toasted and toffee malt flavors with a touch of chocolate underneath.
M: The body is medium with a pretty high carbonation and a bitter finish.
D: Would have preferred this to be a bit hoppier, but such is life. Still pretty good as it is.

On-tap at The Bruery,
A: Pours red with a moderate off-white head, solid retention, spots of lace.
S: Soap and white grapefruit, interesting nose, but not great.
T: Definite red ale/crystal malt flavour. Not over-hopped, the sweetness of the malt comes through which I like, but not a striking flavour. An American sessioner.
M: Medium-bodied, crisp and striking carbonation.
D: A solid effort, not too hoppy which I like in the red, but I certainly prefer the Loakal, the oak really rounds that one out.
