newly on tap at their idaho spot, love these oranges and they show through really well in this light but flavorful base lager, i think well suited to this high fruit purpose. enough malt to make this not just take like juice, but allowing most of the sweetness to come from the fruit, which seems real in here. also low but not zero impact from hops, and it still smell and taste like some lager yeast without being european or anything, a nice mix of subtle complexity overall. sunny super pale orange or richer yellow beer, sort of orange juice colored, with a high rising and then relatively fast fading head, creamy looking, definitely not thin. the nose is essential oils from orange, some bitterness against juicy sweetness, pale pils type barley malt, a little starchiness too which is fine, super bright overall, floral and springy, weird for fall as this is pure warm weather glory, but i like its robustness and heartiness. love that it still tastes like lager at its core, so many of these lose that, and the fruit comes through as very authentic, so this already way ahead of the curve. this does lack much of the acidity that a lot of these have, but thats more radler than shandy anyway, and im cool with that, compatible hops way back, super fresh overall, a bit more body than expected, perhaps from some wheat, maybe from the fruit itself, modest late sweetness, really pleasant and crazy drinkable, increasingly flavorful as it warms, maybe a tad less carbonation than would be most desirable for me, but its real close. lovely stuff, would love to try a few more variants of this, looks like they do a fair few. out of season right now but ill drink this anytime...
