A - Served a cloudy red-brown with a thin finger of off-white head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet dark fruit with some caramel, Belgian yeast and some oak.
T - Starts off with some sweet dark pitted fruit with some cherries, light oak and yeast. Through the middle, more rich malt flavors come through with a bit more yeast character. The finish is rich and malty with some yeast and dark fruit sweetness.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and fruity finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice American take on the Dubbel style. Could have used a bit more complexity.

On tap poured into a tulip glass. Beer pours a dark hazy brown with a finger of foamy tan colored head. Head dissipated after a few minutes, leaving some decent lacing on the glass. A few bubbles visible at the edge of the glass, but doesn't look overly carbonated.
Nose is mostly toffee and molasses with a hint of dark fruit, raisins. A bit of darker spice comes through as it warms, clove and all spice.
Taste is somewhat one dimensional, mainly molasses sweetness with a toasted malt backbone. A bit of dark fruit comes out as the beer warms on your tongue, but not as much as would be expected for a dubbel. Not spice character either so the yeast isn't doing a very good job.
Medium body with some a little carbonation, a few bubbles hitting the tongue here and there. Fairly easy to drink but not too flavorful.

On tap @ Bruery Provisions
Look: Very dark brown with a 1/4 inch head and ok retetion with some spotty lacing
Smell: Figs and raisins are upfront with a Belgian yeast funk in the background
Taste: Dark fruits especially plums upfront and the beer is a bit on the sweet side but finishes with some coffee and again funky yeast notes
Mouthfeel: Medium body ad medium carbonation and slightly sticky
Overall: A good but not great dubble and from a good brewery I don't know if I would drink this one again

Draft at the brewery.
Pours a dark choclate brown color with plum colored edges and a one finger beige head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Sporadic spots of lace left behind.
Slightly medicinal aroma with roasted dark malt and vinous dark fruit. There's a faint syrupy presence with hints of raisin, cherry, fig and other dark berries. I'm also picking up some peppery spice.
On the fuller end of medium bodied with a nice balance of zesty spice, vinous fruit, dark malt and alcohol. There's also a slight medicinal, herbal and syrupy flavor/texture but it doesn't over power or get in the way too much. Hints of caramel and chocolate along with fig, raisin, grape and other dark berries. The ABV is very well hidden making this beer easy to drink. Pretty good but aside from mouthfeel there isn't much out of the ordinary going on here.

Dark brown with ruby edges and a thick, persistent light brown head that leaves the glass messy. Gorgeous dubbel.
An interesting and atypical aroma for a dubbel. The Belgian yeast aroma I'm searching for is faint, with a hint of banana and clove-like spice. There's some simple roasted malt character and a good amount of dark fruit (raisin). I wish the yeast strain played a more dominant role, though the dark fruit and roast is nice.
Again, the flavor is somewhat disapointing, though not altogether bad; I just wish the yeast played a more prominent role in this beer's flavor. There's plenty of raisin presence, a touch of banana, and a good amount of roasted/earth malt character. Slightly better than average, though there are far better American examples of the style, and obviusly, much, much better Belgian examples.
Medium to full mouthfeel with high carbonation.
One of my favorite styles brewed by one of my favorite breweries. I had very high hopes, and I came away very disappointed. That being said, not a bad beer.
