This is phenomenal. The complexity in this beer is on another level as the only other review states. A very very tart/sour apple feel and taste on the front end, back end you get the wine barrel feel. Very similar feel to a lot of the free will sours you can pick up which in my opinion are completely perfect. Honestly couldn't compare this to any beer I've had really... Just the thought of bright red apples are in my brain the whole time I sip this, followed by a bottle of white wine in between sips. Truely an awesome brew

whether or not you care for the spirited fellow behind this operation and his remarks, it matters little, because the beer coming out of this place has represented and continues to represent some of the highest quality and most inventive in the state of colorado and in fact the entire united states. you just cant hate on it because it rules. high praise i know, but take a long hard look at the beer list here, its stunning really, and this latest brew is exceptional. its a red colored sour beer, in collaboration with some east coast outfit i think, and its an apple sour, one of the first ive really had that doesnt remind me of cider, apparently made from skins and cores and stuff that remain after juicing, if i have it correctly. its then aged in chardonnay barrels. the interaction of the white wine and oak, the tangy crispy cool parts of the apple, and the wild yeast is incredible. there is nothing like this on the market, and the execution is amazing really. its heavy, with a lot more malt weight and character than some of the more delicate saisons they make, and definitely a bit of booze, although they dont list an abv. it smells like tangy red apples and lactic acid, lemony lacto but also funky here, bretty, mixed pitch for sure. the chardonnay influence is strong, and the white grape and added acidity are both beautiful with the apple. it has a long long finish, unfolding for up to a minute after the swallow, and becoming more dynamic and distinct as it warms. i bet this will age really really well, as there is obviously still some sugar to chew through. the fruit complexion is entirely original, and overall the beer is sensational. please keep them coming!
