Bottle pour from Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro, VT.
This one pours a clear burnt orange color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells like slightly spicy grain, a damp hay-like funk, some very light smokiness, and white wine.
The wine stave-smoked malt aspect of this is extremely subtle and light. There’s a refreshing and not overwhelming acidity here, with a dank funk to it, with some old hay, and lemon peel.
This is light bodied, with a light acidity and lighter level of carbonation.
This is really quite good, but was definitely gulfed by Residency #2.

Bottle pour onsite. Clear straw that gets a hint of cloudiness when bottom of bottle split between 3 glasses. Citrus, light grain, oaky earth aroma. Flavor has mild and smooth tartness, light citrus and a layer of light grain and funk. Moderate carbonation and soft medium body. Nice all around brew. A hint of the smoked staves comes through as it warms.

750ml bottle, 2018 release, poured into a 2018 FOFA stemmed glass.
The beer pours a pale straw color, lightly hazy with a thin finger of taut foamy white head, moderate retention with sticky lacing. The aroma is nice, pleasant funk, soft pale grain, soft oakiness, a touch of toasted wood yet lightly fruity and floral. The flavors are good, fruity and crisp funk, lightly earthy with a nice pale grain base that offers a touch of spice, oak barrel, toasty oak that has a light smokiness that accentuates the tartness but doesn't read as ashy or harsh. There is a nice mineral water character and a lingering floral flavor. The mouthfeel is good, coating, crisp medium body, nice and lively that coats well and finishes easily.
Verdict: A nice beer from Hill Farmstead and Tim Clifford. The Grisette base worried me when I read the description and the smoked staves, but this works very well together. It's light, refreshingly tart and well developed. Intriguing and unusual beer.
