This 29th iteration in our series of blended, barrel-aged beers weaves together several threads from a variety of barrels—ranging between 8 and 18 months—including Brother Soigné, experimental Farmstead® Imperial IPA, an unreleased beer to be named Wheat Blanc and Self-Reliance Motueka. This pleasantly tart, hoppier offering has been bottle conditioning for the last 14 months and has arrived at a pleasant intersection and expression.

Slightly cloudy unfiltered golden body. Tart and crisp lemon, medium acidity which is a bit more than typical. Lemon peel, touch of grapefruit, light grain, bits of leather and oak. Lots of flavor, dry leather and peel on the finish. Medium body and carb.

poured from a 750mL bottle into a stemmed bulb glass. pours a hazy light orange with a finger and a half of soapy white head that fades into a thick bubbly collar. aromas of citrusy fruits and hops, white wine and slight oak. taste is heavy on the lime and citrus flavors. it’s slightly hoppy, slightly bitter and slightly tart with a semi-dry finish. get plenty of wine barrel. incredibly well balanced. mouthfeel is medium-full. not crazy full but compliments the style quite well. this is immensely complex in smell and taste. the wine barrel goes so well with the hops and citrus. really excellent entry in this series who’s twenties have been on fire.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells really floral, with candied chamomile, lemongrass, funky limes, lemon, pear, green apple, and citrus.
This is a wonderful blend for hot weather, with an elevated hop character. The Motueka comes through strongly, with a lime rind/lemon peel sweet n' sour character coming through, along with a significant floral bitterness. There's lemongrass and chamomile, with a defined perfume character. There's the classic Hill citrusy funk, along with some orange and pineapple.
This is light bodied, clean, and so drinkable. The acidity level and tartness are in check - just enough to be interesting but not enough to linger.
I love that even after dozens of entries into this series, Hill Farmstead is still finding ways to come up with awesome new blends.

Definitely a decent beer. Crisp and refreshing all at the same time. Some acidity with some funk with tastes of more apple and exotic fruits in this brew.

beautiful looking beer. tons of funky fruity complexity and barrel character on palate. there is a funky pineapple flavor up front that is slightly spicy, acidic under ripe oranges, lime, and sour peach. beautiful earthy character that is just funky and earthy enough without being overbearing, wonderful minerality and hint of musty earth flavors. floral, vinous, hoppy, and grainy throughout ... this one is a pungent beer and is extremely complex but achieves this while also being delicate and refined. A wonderful beer that is delicious, crisp, and refreshing.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a stemmed tulip glass.
Pours a hazy bright gold color with 2 fingers of soft all white head. The head hangs around for a good amount before settling into a thin halo. Leaves a ton of lacing around the glass.
The aroma brings lots of lemon, lime, grapefruit and graham crackers with a ton of funk. There's a wave of grass before some dry grape must and an earthy hop backbone.
The flavor starts off with lots of white grape, grape juice, and lime. Then comes some sweet malt and funk with plenty of grass and earthy hops on the finish.
The feel is medium-light bodied with good carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing with some lingering tartness.
Overall, this is a great and relatively complex saison. It's wonderfully tart with a surprising amount of hops. The grape notes are nicely complimented by the lime and citrus acidity.
