Notes:
Since June of 2012, Sankt Hans has been a recurring member of our Farmstead® ale family. The wine barrel-aged version of this amber Farmstead® ale has been a contributing factor to some of our favorite blends in the Civil Disobedience series. For the first time, we have selected the most singular of these barrels in order for the beer to be tasted outside of the brewery.
Brewed and placed into barrels in the winter of 2017, we selected wine barrels that had previously been home to Flora, Civil Disobedience #14, and Art, amongst others. After two years in wood, a refined and more expressive version of Sankt Hans emerged. Benefiting from nearly two years of bottle conditioning, we hope that you might enjoy, for the first time, what one of our favorite blending beers tastes like in its singular state.

I love this, but i can see its short comings
Pours an amber color with nice head. Nose and palate are amber ale with delicate wine barrel intermingled. Body is a bit thin for what is presented on the palate.
Agree that it is very drinkable. Maybe it doesnt pack enough punch for a 30$ bottle for some, but i bought 2

750 mL bottle. Clear amber body. Smells of wine, toasted bread, mineral notes, a little oak. Tastes a little of lemon tartness, wine, toasted malt, mineral notes verging on metallic. Lingering wine flavor. Medium body. Nice.

Bottle from the source.
Shared with Brennan & Khalil.
Brown/amber body with a thin beige collar. Lovely aroma, with notes of oak, honey, grain, earthy hops. Similar flavor. Lovely on the palate. Medium body with a sweet and sour tartness.

Standard. Style is true except that the mouth feel is a bit watery. Could be that I just had a Blue Spot whiskey just before, but it was a little watery. I say that because it felt unbalanced to my tongue. Too much of the taste seemed to fall off to the sides. Otherwise it is pretty good. Taste is spot on for the style.

This one pours a dark orange-ish color, with a fluffy head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like funky lemon peel, tea, earthy almost root vegetable like funk, oak, red wine, citrus.
This is really quite nice. There's a sweet earthy funk here, almost like a sweet potato and tea sort of thing, and it works really well. There's some typical HF funky citrus, red and white wine, and lots of oak as well. There's a solid lemony acidity with some pithy peel-like bitterness.
This is light bodied, and very drinkable, with a manageable acidity and high level of drinkability.
This has always been an all-star for blending purposes, and it works really well on its own as well. It's immensely complex and very wonderful.
