The mother of Italian-style Pilseners, whispering stories of barley fields and hop gardens. A timeless classic, the reinvention of a traditional style, the Birrificio Italiano way. It may seem the most “normal” among our beers, but it is exactly the one to leave the most decisive and long-lasting of marks.

Produced by infusion with Caramunich- and Pilsner-type barley malts, brewed with a popular German bottom-fermenting yeast. German bittering and aromatic hops used both in warm and cold hopping (dry hopping). It is coarsely filtered to remove some of the yeast. Intense yellow-golden in color, it sports an abundant, fine, thick and persistently lacing white head. Initial citrus and grassy hop aroma with hints of fresh yeast are immediately followed by flavors of honey and cereal coming from the malts; crowned by floral hints of chamomile and dandelion.

Best in class.

Just simply deliciously quaffable. Spectacular balance. One of my favorite looks and feels to a beer. Colossal, aromatic, miringue-like head 1-4 fingers depending on pour. Stellar staying power to its retention if bottle is not overly fresh and kept in good condition. When the head reduces to cap, one gentle swirl revives to an enduring quarter finger head.

Crispy, crushable or sippable. Totally satiating. Prickly, zippy carbonation, yet lush feel. Taste wise, superb, but like every other beer, not perfect. Fresh baked mild sourdough with super restrained notes of richer malt, and herbal, zingy, ever so peppery, a kiss of fruit such as pink lady apple, peach, strawberry, zest of lemon.. exquisitely tasteful, clean and delicate hop work. Doesn’t do too much. Everything it offers it offers with unmatched finesse. What a brew. So, so drinkable, so so satisfying. One of my favorite pilsners of all time.

Drinker’s note: best via carefully poured bottle

L: old gold color, slightly cloudy, fine head
S: not much. A touch of spice?
T: lemon, plain doughnuts, bread, coriander
F: medium with a clean, long lasting finish
O: surprisingly complex and satisfying. I wanted to dislike this as I ordered something else and was brought it in error but actually it's very good.

11.2 oz bottle into a Pils glass.
L: Pours a hazed radiant gold color with a thin flat matte white head that slowly recedes to a skin & edge froth, fine yeast in suspension, random lacing spots.
S: A touch of yeast, light overripe fruitiness. Very simple and light.
T: Orchard fruits, a touch of citrus, pastry dough, light yeast, a hint of grains, fresh lemongrass, it has a subtle & soft tanginess, very little aftertaste, mildly complex overall.
F: Gently sharp medium-light bodied mouthfeel with a short, dry, evaporative finish, and an unobtrusive note of chalkiness that aids the dryness a bit.
O: A superior balance of tastes, magnificent feel, refreshing overall. I could easily have more than one of these. The taste simply put is elegant and it is one of the best Pilsners I've had. It is outstanding to world-class in its style.

330ml bottle served in a curvy Fremont glass. Don't see a date on it. Bought it in late August at Full Throttle Bottles.

Pours a hazy soft amber-gold with a big head that dissipates quickly into a thick uneven pillowy layer with about a finger and a half of lacing up the side of the glass. Smell is grassy and green with a lemony lager tang.

Taste is similar, maybe moves a bit toward lime instead of lemon, generally soft and grainy with a nice soaring citrusy hops note throughout.

Mouthfeel is light and soft and smooth. Overall, pretty good.

Boasting claims of the original Italian pilsner, Birrificio brewers set the bar pretty high when it comes to flavorful, clean and crisper light beer.

Bright and bubbly, Tipopils teems with carbonation through a chrome hue and a frothy, arid head. As the scent of mild botanics, herb and citrus rise, so does the fresh grain and sweeter perfumes. That sweetness carries onto the palate with a brisk maltiness of wafer, honeysuckle and hints of cookie dough. As the hops step in, the flavors turn to grassy bitterness laced with citrus peel, lemon balm, verbena and peppery herbs before closing with a quick and concise aftertaste.

Light, crisp and refreshing, the Italian pilsner is gaining traction as some of the cleanest and most flavorful beers among the pilsner families of lager.

Copenhagen 24/9 2020. 33 cl bottle from Shop n Play Kiosk, H.C Ørstedsvej, Frb. C. Busy label with the logo of Birrificio Italiana (two beer glasses doing a 69), corn ears and selfconcious in Italian at the bottom.

Pours unclear, unclear, golden yellow with a big, stable white head. Settles as thin, lumpy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty for mingling with fairly strong citric notes. Sweet pale malts, grains and cardboard. Citrus and lime. Fresh grass.

Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, lively, tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a fairly strong, dry bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and slightly citric. Finish is bitter and dry.

Quite potent, bitter and dry pilsener. It might be self-conscious but in the good meaning of the word.

Look: Poured a frizzy 2 finger head which quickly dissipated into a creamy -pillowy cap. color is a slightly cloudy straw yellow. Glass of choice was a nucleated pilsner

Smell: Slightly sweet, white bread, lemon and orange zest, and a light vegetable grassy hoppiness. Medium strength nose

Taste: First lemony biscuity malt, followed by slightly bitter grassy hops. Very complex vegetable grassy tones. Very much like fresh salad greens. Finish brings back that nice malt flavor again which grows as the bitter vegetable flavor wains

Feel: Medium mouthfeel, with a medium carbonation level. and a creamy texture

Overall: Decent brew. very grassy though so if thats your thing then you might like it

On tap at Windsor Homebrew in Anaheim.
Such a unique beer.
Beautiful, straw to light gold in color with just a slight, swirling cloudiness. Fluffy white head with great retention.
Nose pops with what you expect from a solid Pils, grass, herbal notes, and a grain note. But there is so much more going on here. A green, grain and field, almost rustic quality rises within.
O, here we go. The flavors are coming together, again like I would expect, but then the complexity takes off. Going beyond the solid Plis with notes that are herbal, grainy, damp vegetation, mild alfalfa, and basically "green." Hard to nail down but really unique and pleasant.
Mouthfeel is light, good carb level, active enough to move the flavors around, and finishes slightly dry and "green" on the end.

I am a big fan of delicious Pilsners. There is not that many of them out there. Czech Pilsners and pale lagers are at the top of that list. HOWEVER, Tipopils is an excellent addition to that list.

Pours golden yellow color with a fantastic head retention. The beer is cloudy in a good way as it's near unfiltered.

The aroma of summer grass and happiness put a smile on my face.

The first sip begged for more, pronto! This is a delicious and elegantly hopped lager. So pleasantly smooth and with a light noble hop bitterness, just right!

This is a worthy beer.

Pours a slightly dull golden color. The head is two fingers high with big, foamy bubbles that leave behind splotches of lace on the glass. The aroma is subtle, yet oh so effective. I get fresh cut grass, citrus, honeyed sweetness, and a bit of that pilsnery "twang" I love from the style. Aromatically, it's almost intoxicating. Flavor wise, it follows closely, though is perhaps a bit more muted. I get much of the same earthy malt sweetness to start with a subtly grassy finish. A simple brew, yet one that's so delicate and well rounded. I could drink this stuff all damn day and not get tired. The mouthfeel is marvelous - soft as can be, yet wonderfully evaporative as soon as it leaves the palate. The finish is off-dry, if you will. Surprisingly, carbonation is muted, and it's so much better for it. Yeah, I can see why this beer basically created a new style, and that's some of the highest praise I can give a brew.
