Murky orange body with a thin white cap. Aromas of big gueuze funk with oak, sour berries, big apple, grape, flowers, lemon peel, vinous oak and general oxidation. Taste is much the same but with some vinegar and a touch of brett thrown into the mix. Feel is first and foremost funky, with oak and lightly sour textures interceding. A new world gueuze that is wonderful

750ml corked/caged bottle poured in a pair of small Cantillon tasters.

Pours clear light golden with a medium head and surprising amount of carbonation. Smell is tart, funky.

Taste is tart, lemony, the white of citrus fruit rinds.

Mouthfeel is light and airy. Overall, it's good. Not excellent.

definitely a tasty and well made wild beer here, but to put out the idea that it is comparable to the lambics of the old world is very misleading. its clear and copper colored from the tap, sporting an inch of white head and lots of fizzy bubbles. it smells cool, thats where its most authentic to me, some aged hops, lots of barrel and funk, obviously a blend of some younger and more mature beer, i have no doubt the process at least is similar, but its lacking the wild complexity on the yeast side, and the malt base is a lot different than the earthy wheat we find in more tradition examples of the style, this has some crystal type richness, not unappealing, but definitely not part of what we think about in lambic, generally speaking. the flavor is not quite up to the level of the nose in terms of the yeast character and funkiness, its mellow, bacterial more than bretty to me, feels thinning and sharp, oxidized and even a little stale in places, like not aged but just old if that makes sense. i dont dislike it though, and i get cool nuances of ripe apples, rose wine, and copper along with all the oak. i think its well made beer and its definitely something a little different. i had no idea boneyard was doing this sort of thing, its been all hops in my experience. i would be curious to try this unblended, im sure there is a sweet spot for this base beer, but its not quite all the way on display in this one...

On tap at Hops and Pie. If you are looking for something that could pass for authentic gueuze you will be disappointed but this was still a tasty American wild ale. Sweet, kind of tart, crackers on the finish. Good beer but it's not fooling anyone into thinking it is lambic. Good beer though.

16 oz pour- at Growler Guys- Pours hazy burnt orange with a thin head. Aroma is tart, blueberries, pie crust, lacto. The taste is tart, unsweetened kool-aid, berries, lacto and funky. Very tasty.

Definitely some off-flavors here. The aftertaste was very buttery, which only intensified over time. Mouthfeel felt greasy. A valiant attempt at a classic gueuze, but the key flavors were missing.
