A take on traditional Eastern European Kvass. A low alcohol cereal based, sour drink.
A mash of rye, spelt and Einkorn bread from #5 Bakehouse and The Kernel Brewery's Saison fermented with sourdough starter and Saison yeast, aged on raspberry seconds.

Despite now having reviewed 13 brews from The Kernel and having repeatedly drinking some, their tart is tiring me out. Most of their saisons (my favourite style) are tart, and I have not repeated many. Nor will I repeat this Kvass. But like all I've had from The Kernel, I found them interesting. Their dedication to brewing for the kitchen is why I give them excellent Overall Hugs.
The Kvass style is mostly malty. The Kernel's Raspberry Kvass is mostly tart. Despite being well-executed, I still review relative to the style. Kernel's Looks decent in the glass, but I can only hope for foam. Smells are too tart, really just barely above the style's average. Tastes were good enough to finish the bottle, although the day's temperature broke records for London. So refreshing ! Not quite medium-mouthed. Dzięki ! (That's Cheers in Polish.)
