16 oz can from Toby. Pale straw body, light haze, creamy cap of head. Light funky aroma, bread, yeast. Taste is sweet, tangy citrus, melon, yeasty. All works well together.

First time I saw this in stores. Picked up one for Bill on his and Kristine’s trip out here, and one for me too. I believe this was the first hazy beer I had from Melvin, not including a collab with Toppling Goliath. I’m a sucker for Melvin beers and was looking forward to this. Description on their website read, “Through the tropical haze, you might find us in the spot cold lampin’. Listen to the gas as it cracks open. Smell the tantalizing aromas. Savor the bold flavors as they ebb and flow over your taste buds. Get experimental.”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with five fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at a pretty quick pace. World-class uneven layered foamy lacing, kind of going with the mountains in the Pure Project glass. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled really damn good right from the get-go. Thought Simcoe, Citra and Galaxy before I checked out their website, but it only lists Galaxy for it. Either way, also pineapple, papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit, peach, pine, dank resin and fresh-cut grass. Just as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
First thing I thought when I tasted it was tropical is right, even more than the smell. Not quite as good though. Got that Galaxy right away, followed by Simcoe and Citra (both not mentioned). Also papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, guava, peach, pine, dank resin and fresh-cut grass. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, tropical, juicy finish. (Feel - 3.75)
An excellent hazy IPA by a brewery known for its West Coast IPAs. Can’t wait to have again. (Overall - 4.25)

Slightly hazy clear yellow brew with modest but fine-grained foam in the Orval chalice. Pleasingly pétillant and I found the carbonation to be just right. It's a little acidic but such a nice prickly mouthfeel. Aroma of yeast and green pepper is also inviting.
his does taste like cucumber and green melon. There's just a whiff of pineapple. The brewers have managed to keep the bitterness restrained while showcasing the hops in a very enticing way. This is the right way to do hazy. From the 16 oz can purchased at Pioneer Market in La Conner.

Poured from a tall can into a tulip.
Pours a hazy, nearly cloudy, yet shimmering light (nearly straw) gold. It has an excellent three-fingered foamy head that lingers quite well, and gives way to excellent lacing.
Aromas of mango and pineapple forward. Honeydew and cucumber in midstream. Some grapefruit bitterness balances, as well as some grassy and herbal (chive) notes.
The flavors follow the nose fairly closely. Sweet tropical flavors and hints of malt hit the tip of the tongue, but the melon/cucumber flavors arrive in midstream, along with a bit of honey-kissed cracker. The chive notes are stronger here.
The brew could use a bit more carbonation, and feels a little heavier than expected as a result. However, it's very drinkable for the ABV, and is not sweet, sticky, or cloying.
This is an excellent NEIPA that marries juicy flavors with some decent herbal/dank notes.

Description: Appearance is very hazy/cloudy with a dull orange juice color. Little to no head to speak of. Aroma is fruity, juicy, sweet and mango. Supposedly there's passion fruit...but I don't know what passion fruit smells like. Seemed very fresh. Taste follows the nose; it's fruity, tropical and not bitter. Really flavorful. Carbonation is low to medium with a medium body.
Overall: 4.25 (This beer is good and I would likely drink it again) Lots of fruity, juicy stuff going on here. A totally crushable beer and worth trying if you get the chance.

Exceptional beer. I was pleasantly surprised by the aromas. Overpowering mango aroma with a mango taste to match. Not acidic and easy to drink. The ABV on this one is reasonable at 7%. I was hesitant to try this beer because I hate everything about Wyoming. But I thought I'd give these guys at Melvin a shot and did they hit a home run. An amazing example of an IPA.
overall: will not upset an experienced beer drinker or someone who is looking for something special. The drinkability on this one for the 7% it holds goes down easily. Nice job melvin.

Tasted on tap at Casual Pint in Omaha
L: Straw to the orange side, no sediment. Very light head, and very good lacing with great retention
S: Mango, melon, very tropical but there's a combo of scent I can't quite figure out. Sweet, earthy, but also a tiny dank bite which is throwing me off. Yet it's really very appealing.
T: Smooth mango flavor, citrusy but not acidic. Slight sour aftertaste but fit in well with the experience
M: Light body, carbonation is there but not heavy.
O: I really loved this one. The flavor and smoothness, combined with just the right amount of hops are what drove me to the review. Nothing bad to report here. I purchased the 4-pack cans to see if there is a difference.

16 ounce can, canned September 18th.
Pours a hazy straw yellow with an ample but not overpowering head of foam despite a less than gentle pour. Lacing is good.
I get aromas of mango, grapefruit citrus, a little bit dank but not too much. By dank I mean light onion. Too much usually puts me off.
The taste is closer to being up my alley than most of the style.
Mango and grapefruit citrus taste is, well, tasty. Dankness/onion is even lower in the taste than the smell. Cracker malt compliments the hops. The hoppiness suggests dry hopping and the finish is rather dry. Very hoppy but not too bitter at all.
The body actually feels on the light side to me. Maybe that's part of the reason that I favour it.
Pretty yummy representation of the style, which I normally have problems getting into. Definitely worth a try if you see it around. Especially this fresh.
