Pint can purchased at the Brattleboro, VT CoOp. 3/11/20. Opened and reviewed same day.
Hazy straw gold color with slight orange hues. A sea foam style, Rocky cover clumps up, slowly seperates and leaves fat chunk of lace behind.
The nose has sweet pinecones, mint leaves, tropical juice punch and honey soaked pineapple aromatics from the hops and golden grainy malt. A very interesting hop heavy smell.
Prickly and grainy golden malt hits the palate first, and then it's a light current of earthy stone fruity style hop flavor. A bit of a watery and lazy mouthfeel as the first sip soaks away. Water cress, under ripe honeydew melon, dry grasses and peppery corn husks all collide flavor wise to make it pretty weird overall. Interesting, but weird.
The mouthfeel falls seriously short for the "Hazy";or New England styles. The body is light and relaxed, "watery" is pretty much spot on.
Minty tea leaves and lightly toasted oats ride on in the aftertaste.
Golly Gee, I'm not sure what to make of it, I mean, there's a lot to love and a lot to just ask "why" about.

The can was canned in 11/2019. Very nice hazy yellow with thin delicate bubbles. Very smooth , hoppy , fruity taste blended perfectly with in full body mouth feel. Leave a little small aftertaste comparing to previously bursting of flavor. Seriously, this is the best one I tasted in this year.

On draught at Gaslight Social Club.
Pours a hazy no, cloudy yellow orange, fine layer of foam. Lacing is good.
Smells of pineapple, tropical fruit, rather light nose of hops for a beer from Melvin.
Taste is rather light in the hops department. Citrus and pineapple starting to emerge as the beer warms up. At times, it has a dry hopped character to it. Low level of bitterness.
Medium bodied. Not something that I would drink again; doesn't appeal to me but it is far from bad. Shrugs.

Picked up a can of this at that gas station in Carmichael that has all the dank norcal beers. Shop Smart, Shop S Mart or some name like that.
Anyways, standard lightly hazed yellow beer with 2/5" white head. Cool label design and reference, that's usually worth .25 on the appearance score. Aroma was a blend of the usual suspects, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, passion fruit, pine.
Taste had that mix of what tasted like Simcoe's dryness (light malt bill also helped with that mouth feel) and the remnants of the proprietary aroma hops (generic guess at Mosaic/Citra). Its a good beer but it also seems a little less than some of their elite tier bangers. At the same time, I enjoyed this being a more mellow version than a lot of their hoppier and stronger offerings. Was this a collaboration? I thought it was but can't remember with who, likely a CA brewery based on where I bought it. I dunno for $4 a tallboy I'd prolly give it another whirl just so I can get another sticker of Hop Aquatic.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Firestone 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $4.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 13, 2019
Consumed: Dec. 13, 2019
Misc.: Canned on Nov. 13, 2019
Grabbed this along with a few others ones at Windmill Farms. First time hearing about it. I’m a sucker for Melvin and I enjoyed the one hazy IPA I had reviewed from them. A bunch of mumbo jumbo on the online description, so was going into it blind.
Poured a golden hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass, looking like a snow globe. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled tangerine, mango, pineapple, papaya, lemon, honey and grapefruit. Even better out of the can. Not sure of the hops, but would say Simcoe for one. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose, but not quite. Got Simcoe, papaya, mango, pineapple, tangerine, Mosaic, lemon, grapefruit, bubblegum and viney berry. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Outstanding overall. Melvin keeps getting better with the haze. (Overall - 4.00)

Draft at Bier:Thirty. Light haze, small head. Aroma is light citrus, more citric than juicy. Taste follows with soft citrusy flavors, kind of dry. Underwhelming

Nice hazy golden straw color with a fluffy white head, this beer is tossing off dank, citrus aromas with impunity - grapefruit, passion fruit, lemons. Wow.
The dank hops dominate the taste as well, with ripe grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, and passion fruit flavors in abundance.
Melvin is world-class, IMHO, especially with hop-forward beers. This is no exception.

10oz teku at CRFT. Pours almost clear light golden. Medium head, medium carbonation. Smell is mild, fresh, grassy. Taste is lemon and vague citrus. Something tropical, too. Feel is medium bodied. Overall, not bad.
