(6? oz can, canned on 01/30/25; purchased for $8.49 off shelf at BobKat about a week ago... poured into a teku)

L: foam burst out upon tab pop, 80% of the glass fill was foam, thick and darker brown in color... head all but dies, leaving a thin collar and barely any lace... would've been nice to see some head retention

S: a lot of adjunct on the nose: vanilla yogurt, white chocolate, candy bar coating... hints of alcohol slowly emerge... dark dense fruit note is the last thing to take over, kind of raisinet, but verging on prune.. some slight roasty definiton later on... overall potent but murky

T: failing to detect overt notes of barleywine, as it's mostly dark malt (but not brazenly roasty, despite the dark head) flavors with a whole lot of creamy candy bar adjunct... it honestly just tastes like a pastry stout (or spiked syrup) with perhaps a hint of dark jammy fruitiness; not much depth, especially in the aftertaste (I'd be more interested to taste this blend without the childish adjuncts)

F: bit of a thick viscosity with a long, but delicate finish, as far as the body, though it's curiously airy/vacant in the middle... the aft sports a softly searing, vaugely medicinal booze sting that pings and tickles for a long while

O: arugably as worthy as any to be categorized as an 'American Strong Ale', kitchen sink, greatest hits variety... it's not bad, actually moreish even... it's got its flavors flaws and deficits, but I think most seasoned beer drinkers would dig it (2525)
