Bought in 2025. Poured cool to a Glencairn glass. Color is deep ruddy chestnut. barrels. Incredible. I am not usually an Evil Twin fan and I almost didn’t buy it, but barleywines are so difficult to find around here. It has an amazing everything: Aroma is strong caramel and stone fruit and spice; flavor is the same but with a slight bourbon cleansing cut; English heavy sweetness, akin to Fremont B5K; mouthfeel is viscous and oily; alcohol has bite and warmth. A bit steep at $40/500 ml, but very glad I bought two. I might “need” to pick up the last handful they have.

Molasses and toffee malty, a hint of dark fruits, a touch of maple, and a bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a sweet caramel and maple syrup, brown sugar dusted raisins, and a balanced bourbon barrel boozy finish. I noticed much more dark fruit on the palate than on the nose...this became more and more evident as it warmed. On the sweeter side and could be a little more nuanced, but this is enjoyable and good!
