Brewed & Canned by Enegren Brewing Company, Moorpark, California.
This classic Vienna-Style lager is named after the historic Main Street in Moorpark, California where it is brewed. It is a reddish amber color with a malty backbone and slight sweetness complimented by a subtle spiciness from the German Hops.
Appearance: Poured close to half the 16 oz can into a flute glass, yielding tan white creamy soapy lacing over a clear amber tan base. Negligible carbonation after the initial pour, and head leaves a thin cover over the base. 3.75
Aroma: Strong caramel malt aroma, lemon tea backs. Sweet. 3.75
Taste: Caramel front and center, pumpernickel bread backs. Malty. 3.5
Mouthfeel: Gentle persistent carbonation, drinks easy, below the ABV. Sweet, but enough hops to cause issues. Malty, caramel sweetness lingers start to finish. 4.0
Overall: This is a solid offering in a style that is not my favorite (malty & sweet). Enough hops to balance as best as possible. Good beer, but prefer other Enegren styles and offerings to regularly drink. 3.75

Handsome dark amber brew with abundant off-white foam in the Scottish thistle glass. Rich aroma of roasted grain and pecans. Substantial malty body with some sweetness. The taste is so nutty it's a surprise. Then the caramel and a green herbal taste. Rather bitter aftertaste, for this style. Overall this is a highly flavorful and even hoppy Lager that tastes more like an Amber Ale. From the 16 oz can purchased at at O'Shea Brewing. Dated 05/28/24.

Clear medium brown pour with darker edges, khaki head, bands periodically of lacing. Smells of earthy hops atop biscuit, toasted caramel malt, mild grain and slight minerals. Taste again has toasted caramel as a base but now with toast, sweeter malt with biscuit, grainy leaning yeast and finishes with significant earth hops. Feel is more bitter for style, clearly a new world take, but well made with yeast and malt being nice satisfying each sip with sneaky depth all together

Pours a clear, golden copper body topped with two fingers of fluffy, off-white foam; solid head retention leaves a thin veil of cap, a moderate, taut, frothy collar, and a modest, uniform layering of webby lacing holding firmly to the walls of the glass.
Aroma highlights a toffeed yeastiness feeding toward brown bread crusts accented with a wispy florality, with undertones of pumpernickel building toward an interwoven minerality as tones of wet brown sugar layer sweetness on the close.
Taste opens to dry caramel and sweet malts with a wispy brown bread interlude, steadily phasing through a soft floral undercurrent as a lingering minerality crusted with softer notes of brown sugar marks the finish.
Mouthfeel features a lighter body with moderate-high carbonation as a brief fluff fades to a prickly effervescence; a subtle roastiness through the mid-palate transitions to a clean grit stimulating the finish.
Initial sweetness dries efficiently, leaving a deft florality detailed robust caramel and drying brown bread undertones; a traditional flair toying with an enhanced, malty indulgence for a high-grade stateside take on the Vienna lager.

Sweet caramel biscuity malty and hint of hoppy citrus nose on this one! Taste follows with a caramel malty, clean and crisp, balanced and subdued, hoppy bitter finish. I like the balance between the malty sweetness upfront and the citrus bitterness on the backend. This is good!

This one is pretty much just ok. It doesn’t take me to wild places. I don’t see Max von Sydow playing chess with death, nor is it like watching Pierre Fresney hold a conversation with Erich von Stroheim. It’s just Raul, sitting at his kitchen table with his boo, drinking it. But that’s ok with me.
Peace.

the pour looked great at first, but settled into some large bubbles. i'm not a huge fan of vienna lagers but this one is very easy going down and one of the better ones i've tried.
