330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 3/6/2019. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big grapefruit, lemon peel, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, pear, apple, white wine, oak, peppercorn, honey, cracker, herbal, hay, grass, musty funk, and yeast/oaky earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, wine barrel, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, lemon peel, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, pear, apple, white wine, oak, peppercorn, honey, cracker, herbal, hay, grass, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Good amount of earthy/peppery yeast spice and light tangy/tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, pineapple, mango, white wine, oak, peppercorn, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Light-moderate dryness after the finish. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, wine barrel, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly acidic mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome wine barrel brett saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast, wine, barrel, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. Served in an Off Color tulip.

A - Voluminous white foam settles to a thick collar, partial cap, and minimal lace. Hazy dark peach body.

S - Funky, bretty, vinous, oaky Saison. Stone fruits and even some perfume notes. Pretty on-point for the style, although it has a bit more malt heft than I tend to prefer; thought it was actually a bit stronger than the listed 6.8%.

T - Taste isn't quite as excellent as the aroma, with bitter oak and medicinal brett overwhelming the finish. The initial hit on the palate is quite nice though, with a mix of stone fruits, grains, farmhouse yeast, and vinous flavors.

M - Pleasant, smooth, body, with creamy carbonation. No warming alcohol. Really excellent here, with a crisp, oaky finish. Very refreshing. Best part of this brew.

D - Interesting this was contract brewed at De Molen, as it's not a brewery that I associate with brett, saisons, etc. Perhaps a bit past its prime with the brett flavors getting unbalanced, but on the whole it's a really nice beer. Would like to see this become a regular Omnipollo offering.

A- Pours a slightly hazy golden-straw color with a finger + of white head that retains well and leaves some lacing on the glass.

S- There is tons of funk and fresh cut hay right off the bat. Some tart green apple follows, and then a ton of overripe pineapple, along with other tropical fruits, such as papaya, mango, and orange. Some more earthy, barnyard notes, horse blanket in particular come through. Hints of oak round out a very pleasant aroma.

T- The flavor is very earthy, with barnyard funk and hay being the primary flavors. Touches of the tart Granny Smith apple come through. The overripe pineapple is a good secondary flavor. Very tasty, but doesn't stand up to the aroma.

M- The mouth feel is medium with low to medium carbonation. Incredibly dry, and mildly tart.

O- This is a really nice saison that I would recommend trying. I would like more tartness and barrel character, but still very solid.

This is an interesting one. A Swedish wine-barreled saison? And that's not even mentioning the bottle. Tasted 5 August 2014.

Pours a hazy pale golden orange-yellow. Half-finger of fizzy white head. Okay retention and lacing.

Smell is odd for a saison. Big citrus and tropical fruit, much more like a dry-hopped pale ale or something. It's really nice, but it's really odd for what this beer is supposed to be.

Taste is strangely ambiguous. A little tart, a little citric, a touch yeasty. Again, it drinks more like a hopped pale ale. Lightly bitter in the finish. This is a saison?

Feel is quite good. Light body, fizzified, smooth fuzzy finish.

This is a really unusual beer. There's a hint of saison yeast, but otherwise I'd think it were a citrus-infused, hoppy pale ale. That makes for some interesting combinations. Overall, I kinda like it, however weird it is.
