Crowler from the brewery served in a Redhook sampler glass. My friend gave it to my wife yesterday.

Pours a slightly pinkish/whitish/amber with a small head and medium carbonation. Smell is kind of muddy grains with a hint of fruit, a little hint of bud light.

Taste is definitely raspberry, and mediocre wheat.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly effervescent. Overall, not bad, but not particularly good.

A – pink/ orange with clouding. Beautiful golden pink color
Smell – wheat sweetness and tart berry notes
Mouthfeel – highly carbonated, champagne feel. Medium body. Crisp finishing.
Taste – wheat body and honey sweet notes balanced well with tart raspberry and good carbonation
Overall – Excellent use of berry in wheat. Crisp light and delicious sweet/tart summer seasonal.

On tap at the brewery as their summer seasonal. Poured to a standard pint glass (notes from 8/12/11):

A - Poured a very murky golden tan with 1/2-finger of white small bubble head. No retention on the head, spotty lacing.

S - Moderate intensity of fresh raspberry, not artifical sweetness or tartness, but right off the vine, balanced with a sunny golden wheatiness.

T - Mild lemony citrus hop, with a pop of dark raspberry tart over the mild light wheat malt sweetness. Finishes with a light bitterness hidden in the wheaty flavor, and the aftertaste is cool mellow raspberry.

M - Light to medium body, but creamy in texture. Sharp quick fizz of carbonation at the front of th tongue that slowly sizzles away to reveal the flavor. The raspberry adds a smooth and velvety texture. Finishes dry.

D - Very good. The raspberry flavor is the closest to fresh-picked I've tasted in a beer, and overall the beer itself is not to sweet or fruity. It's a well-balanced and flavorful fruit/wheat beer. This is a great summer beer, but would be a yeaar-round treat as well.
