Not very good. The sight fools you into you're drinking a very nice summer beer. But, after your first mouthful you get blasted by citrus syrups or sugars, or even a simple syrup under tone. Too sweet, not sour enough, sticks to your mouth after. Super thin and flat like a juice and not a beer. Cape May is usually good but this is a pretty bad beer.

Provided by Rich after one of his Jersey Shore visits.
LOOK: Very lively pour that resulted in a runnaway head that was snow white. It slowly receeded leaving side glass lace wverywhere. It was hazy lemon yellow in color.
AROMA: Lots of tart citrus. Lemon mixed with ornages
TASTE: Sweet, sour mix, hints of wheat, refreshing.
Having this in December and this is a definitely a summertime brew, perfect for the beach and warmer weather.

12 oz can at the Fall 2021 ASMF. The can shows a canning date of June 2021 on the bottom.
Aroma. Strong citrus, mainly oranges.
Flavor. Tasting produces a more diverse array of tropical fruits with pineapple joining the citrus. This seems too sweet, particularly up front, with partially compensating light tartness and mild bitterness.

(12 oz can, BORN ON 06/23/21, 'wheat ale with natural flavors', 'brewed and canned under special agreement by Cape May Brewing Company, Utica, NY; purchased cold single... poured into a 14 oz mug)

L: cloudy-ass, banana-hued liquid; alarmingly tall, but dense, silky foam... thick, misty collar but, alas, not a streak of lace

S: grapefruit Mountain Dew?, citrus-drenched San Pellegrino thang?... at any rate, awesome intensity and expression, can't wait to dive in

T: malty, citrus-blend nectar, as in fruit-heavy and malt milky, but not at all like a NEIPA; something else... fruit smoothie, maybe even Pina Colada-like

F: plump, bloated, greasy... a bit lip-smacky... leaves a delicate gummy film on the palate; may beg to have another 1.5% abv injected to thin it out...

O: soooo, and FX Matt production? Is the demand for CMBC that large?!?... very tasty brew, despite its muck... I enjoyed this (long) enough to record the review, but hell no would I have more than one of these or it at all again; the wheat blob is an enemy (1816)

Pours a very cloudy dark straw color. Pretty bubbly head with no real retention or lacing which I expected give the style.

Aroma is amazing if you like citrus, it smells like fresh juiced orange juice with lemon and lime juice mixed it. It’s an intoxicating yet not overpowering smell. Really really good smells here, sorry no other way to put it.

The taste to me leans heavily orange almost has a tang like vibe to it. I notice the lemon and lime as well only because the finish is more tart than an orange.

The mouthfeel is soft and light, very easy drinking beer. Despite all the citrus juice aromas and tastes this is not a sweet beer. It finishes pretty dry making it beg for sip after sip.

I really enjoyed this beer. This beer would be dangerous sitting on a beach if I had zero responsibilities. Cape May brews some great beers and this is another one.

Around medium carbonation with about the same for the body.
Aroma is very strong, heavy on lemon lime followed by plenty of fresh orange and juice. Fruity and floral which dominates.
Taste is almost identical to aroma, lemon, lime, orange, fruit and peel.
It was extremely flavorful but came off almost like adult fruit juice. Would try this again . Its not a post lawn mower beer but refreshing when just having one

Citrus Shandy

on draft at the brewery, served in plastic pint glass

hazy yellow golden in color, thin white head. Aroma is obviously orange heavy. Taste is strong citrus zest, starts a bit sweet but finishes tart. thinner bodied. Good for a hot day

This is another fruited beer that is quite tasty. Some breweries fall into a niche, and I think (not in a bad way) that Cape May has mastered the fruited beer category. First off was The Bog, a standout Shandy, and outstanding tart treat. Then came Crushin’ It, and orange inspired beer that was another great add. This year, The Grove was new to us, and definitely crushable. If you want to strike gold, go ahead and make a fruited Mix Pack. (Damn, I should have asked for a cut before making the suggestion). Yes, not all beer geeks like the fruited offerings, but if you put it in terms of what six pack you would like to take to the beach, and make an afternoon out of it, Cape May has been killing it over the past few years....
