a really odd beer, more than a tad overdone on the lime leaf, on tap at Patxi's, the new California pizzeria on university and hampden. it pours a little flat, cloudy and thicker like a good hefeweizen, but with very little head, just a thin white film. the nose is interesting. its like an Asian dish, but heavy on the perfume. the lime leaves have obviously contributed a lot, steeped like green tea they must have been but for far too long, because one sip of this beer feels like a deep breath of grandma perfume. its almost caustic to the tongue, astringent, and overpowered, but it is surely interesting. tropical fruit essences go well with the wheat, but the proportions are just too far off for this to be very good or drinkable. I think if they cut the lime leaf presence by half, they would really be onto something, but this is too far gone. good bubble though, and an acceptable medium body, albeit a little soapy. overall a good idea that needs some tweaking to stick, but I like where its headed.

Pours a pale light golden color with a bit of haze. Nice head with good retention and average lacing. Aroma smells of citrus, light spices and an undertone of yeasty/breadiness.

Tastes of citrus, wheat and light spices. A tiny bit yeasty. Excellent carbonation and VERY drinkable. I could have this every warm/hot day of the year.

Surprisingly this is darn fine beer for me. I'm not one for lighter beers, but this hit the spot.

It pours a very hazy, light golden, pale lime green. Foamy head, thick and white.

Aroma is lime, some coriander, lemon zest and very light biscuit.

Lime and lemon dominate this beer in the flavor department, but it's not all that strong. Light toast is whisked away by the lime. Some spice in the end, floral. Carbonation hits the spot.

My first beer at DBC and I'm impressed. Not something I'd have all the time, but a great summer beer

First had: on tap at their brewpub

Poured a nice hazy straw-yellow with a fluffy white head that receded to a thin layer. Citrusy nose, crisp with lime zest, and a classic wheat profile. Pretty smooth for a wheat beer, with a definite taste of lime zest, that isn't overbearing at all, and provides a very drying sensation. Moderately tart, and slightly acidic, with just a touch of spice at the end. Light mouthfeel, nicely carbonated, easily drinkable, and overall refreshing and enjoyable.
