Hop Lab: Azacca Pale Ale is the latest addition to our HopLab series. This 5.2% pale ale uses Azacca hops in the kettle and is dry hopped with both Azacca and Galaxy. Azacca is a relatively new hop variety that brings flavors of pineapple, tropical fruits and some pine.

Cloudy. Incredible lacing and head retention. Nose is subtle, but present. Huge tropical fruit with a touch of grass. Finishes with an intense sweetness. This beer is damn good. Really enjoying this hop lab series.

Bright orange and cloudy with a medium white head and great lacing. Very cloudy, can't see through at all. Notes of light pineapple, mango, grapefruit, orange and tangerine. Great body for 5.2%, medium body feel, clean on the finish and a touch drying on the back. This was a home run, the hop lab beers continue to impress.

Really tasty and drinkable pale ale. Tons of juicy pineapple and citrus from the azzaca and a nice floral nose is assume contributed by the Galaxy. Goes down real easy and has a clean finish with very little residual bitterness

On-tap at Cowan's Public, Nutley, NJ

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color—too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving some bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of pineapples are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of pineapples (but without any associated sweetness) and a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a bit of crispness to the mouthfeel.
O: This is an interesting hop variety that has pineapples without the sweetness. It's not as bitter and crisp as I would normally expect for an IPA but is an interesting change of pace.
