Slick yet gloppy black with a dense mocha blanket that maintains a bubbly collar indefinitely.
From afar, the aroma starts out with a big punch of bourbon, but getting in close, all kinds of decadent chocolate fudge and gooey brownie take over. With some time, complexity emerges, with waxy, nutty wet yet charred oak, dark roasted malt, and toasty smoky maple.
Taste is super rich and decadent chocolate fudge melding into well aged dark fruit and charred oak with tangy nutty malt, sweet sticky bourbon and smoky dark maple. There are also hints of peppery bourbon and toasted coconut, with a faint peanut butter exhale. The sweetness seems to increase over time.
The full body has a thick velvety carbonation with a slight sting of heat and a sticky, semi-dry finish.
ANTEAD is absolutely phenomenal--the hype is real, and then some! I've been anticipating this so hard, and I'm normally let down by my overly high expectations, but this exceeded them.

L: pours black, pretty thick but still see threw on the pour, half finger of brown head lingers.
S: big chocolate and bourbon mix. Not overly sweet but very inviting. Rich and smooth but not jumping out of the glass
T: very good....just like the nose, big chocolate and bourbon. Smooth and delicious
F: ultra smooth and easy drinking. Not the thickest beer but oh so smooth and coating.
O: fantastic non adjunct Ba stout

2016 ANTEAD.
Pours pitch black, completely impervious to light. Barely any head. Huge aroma of chocolate, bourbon barrel, bourbon, faint coconut and vanilla. Amazing. Thick and fudgy, it is just so good. Loads of milk chocolate, big notes of bourbon barrel, some vanilla and coconut, fantastic. Very thick and viscous, slick and coats the tongue. This is a world class beer that I hope to see again soon, worth seeking out!!
