HUGE can to snifter.

Pleasantly surprised as I wasn't expecting all that much from an historically inspired lager; but this is super tasty and smooth.

smooth cereal malts; medium citrus through out; lots of small wood notes: grass, cedar, oak, pine....Jersey!

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) bottle into a Willi Becher glass; canned 04/27/21.
A: Pours a crystal clear, golden orange color with very exuberant head formation, leading a three to four finger, light tan head with cap retention, but fairly modest soapy lacing.
S: Slightly tart. Aromas of grass and grains, as well as apple and fresh bread notes.
T: Dry. Palate largely follows nose, with the addition of subtle caramel. Light and refreshing bitterness (in the back where it belongs).
M: Light bodied with remarkably persistent effervescence. Drinks very smoothly and cleanly.
O: I have had quite a few Vienna Lagers, including some very good ones. This is my favorite to date.

A "pre-prohibition" lager, otherwise a crude Vienna lager with 2-row, 6-row, Vienna malt, and 2 NJ grown varities of corn, Stowell's Evergreen and Bloody Butcher. All of it from Rabbit Hill Malthouse in NJ, so effectively a showcase for them through Kane.

Pours with a tightly packed white head and clear golden color. Remarkable clarity given that most beers of this quasi-style seem to be defined by their rough edges and less-than-perfect appearance.

Very expressive on the nose, almost all of it maltiness. Smells like toasted malt, husks, and shallow-pan cornbread.

Starts out with a light malt sweetness wherein everything works very well. Malts of varying levels of modification and character in flux, maybe with the corn adding a dash of toastier character towards the finish.

Not the most carbonated lager, nor is it bitter or dry. It is a deliver-er of malt, even to the extent there isn't really a discernible hoppiness. It's slightly larger than usual ABV is there, but not in a way that I feel adds or subtracts, this lager is as drinkable as any underneath it in intensity.

Slightly stronger than usual and malty lager with a touch of corn malt. It is quite drinkable for it's size and is a nice showcase of the agricultural spoils of my home state. For that, I respect it.

Pours a translucent light honey color with a nice creamy/foamy head. Smell is predominately sweet caramel and some fresh biscuit dough, Taste is crisp and clean with a sufficient amount of carbonation.Nice hop presence. Since the can says brewed with NJ corn and NJ malted barley is why (I'm guessing they call it a NJ Lager.) Either way it tastes delicious like a really good Vienna Lager. The corn and malts give it the taste of mild kettle corn. My only concern is that the corn may be genetically messed with (aka Roundup corn) If I knew this was organic I would probably never buy another style of beer-I wish Breweries were more transparent with their ingredients.Seems like they are not obliged to print anything but the beer style and maybe ABV- My scores are in hopes with this corn is a non GMO product- Brewery contacted me and said they use non GMO heirloom corn, Bonus!!!

16 oz can. Pulled from the cooler at my brother in law's Memorial Day party.

Poured deep gold with a big white head that diminished down to a thin layer. Sweet, bready malt aroma. The sweetness is almost honey-like. Light herbal and citrus notes from the hops.

Very clean finish but off-dry with a bit of adjunct lager sweetness. Would have liked it to be drier. Overall, Kane does a nice job with this one.

Pours a medium/light straw color, big billowy white head. Sweet malty, bready aroma. Great tasting lager, on the sweet side, abundant carbonation, great malt flavor, lots of honey. Very sessionable.

Growler purchased 11/25 at brewery and poured into Aslin Anniversary glass. Nice light golden color, very clear. 2F fluffy white head with spotty lacing and a cap and ring. Nice Pilsner malt and citrus hop smell. Taste follows nose, a little bit of citrus and clove with the Pilsner/Vienna malt. Nice and bready, but light. Light to moderate mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Good construction and balance.

This is a great lager. I'm glad Kane is going with one and I wish there was more of a response to it. As always, I love the nod to the Jersey Shore in the name.
