We took a small portion of this beer post fermentation and aged it in barrels we got from our friends at @melovino Meadery. These barrels were first used to age bourbon, then mead and finally our Old Ale. The mead barrels add another layer of flavor and complexity to this beer. (White Wax)

Pours dark with a fizzy head that recedes quickly. Massive chocolate aroma, cocoa powder, Flavor is liquid fudge, loads of cocoa, light coffee, light sweetness, honey flavor pokes through on the finish . Delicious. Light carbonation, very creamy. Overall a delicious BA beer.

Beautiful rendition of old world craft. Dark brown motor oil, full-bodied pour. The honey taste of mead comes through first, replaced by roasted malt flavors. The final--and long--aftertaste is a heady, subtle sweetness, again from the mead barrels. A mid-winter night's dream beer if there ever was one!

From Labor Day weekend notes:
500 ml bottle.
Moderate pour yields a tiny head over a dark brown body with no lacing. Nose of chocolate, raisin, and honey. Taste mirrors nose, sort of, as you wouldn't know by the smell the amount of sweetness that is coming. Very sweet! Good feel and overall, definitely not for everyone. Cheers!
