Pours crystal clear initially; mix of dark gold and amber; white bubbly head ok to average retention.

Nose is quite aromatic; there’s toast, some bread, hints of something sweet; floral undertones.

Taste is nice; some toasty light sweet bread quality, balanced touch of hops; mostly lend a good spiciness but also a nice bit of earthiness, even a touch grassy on the finish, I like it; not overdone but noticeable hops.

Mouthfeel pushes to medium but it really maintains a great drinkability; very cleanly lagered; light malty sweetness does detract a little but overall great drinking beer, light bitterness.

Canned on 9/1/23; consumed on 11/12/23

Pours a crystal-clear honey-gold body topped with two fingers of near-creamy, off-white foam; good head retention leaves a slight layer of cap, large, frothy collar, and a generous spattering of webby/soapy lacing spread around the walls of the glass.

Aromas of caramel malts sport a nutty underscore before hints of minerality and fruity lager yeast enhance depth into a predominantly bread dough-laden close.

Taste offers wheat toast against a tinge of burnt honey upfront, with minerality and lager yeast over the mid-palate bringing a steady progression to bread crust on the finish.

Mouthfeel brings a medium body sporting crisp texturing, flaky yet taut, and a prickly fluff of moderate carbonation easing to subtly roasty undertones and a steadily drying close.

Gentle roast and choppy sweetness characterize a largely clean Oktoberfest lager, leaving intermittent variance of malted expression while never entirely cohesive, and thus, unremarkable.

16 oz can. Pours amber with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grassy hops and bready malt. Body is full and crisp. Grassy, herbal hops supported on the palate by bready malt. Finish is long and dry. Outstanding brew.

DATE: September 30, 2023... OCCASION: although I could not attend the H'town or State College Fests, I celebrate the time with a local offering... GLASSWARE: Oto's pub mug... the sizzles at the pouring, a lively copper body building nearly two fingers' worth of off-white, dimpling froth--off to a great start... heavy pretzel dough in the aroma, with caramel, sweet toffee, with a bit of nut and aromatic garden... an alluring mix that deeply impresses its style... smooth, rich, and buttery, it mellows the tongue and offers great retention at the throat... finds the sweet spot between easy-drinking and textured... caramel, bread dough, toffee, tea, and a floral undertone that gives it an added dimension worth pondering...not sure if this is the debut year for this--I didn't see it last year--but it is one I will revisit next fall...rich, flavorful, and drinkable, it works... not bad for a brewery more known for everything BUT lagers...

Pours like a marzen, gold with a white head. Aroma is mild and malty and a touch fruity. Taste is spicy hoppy with plenty of malt sweetness, low bitterness. Feel is clean and crisp. Overall it is a solid marzen.

Pours a crystal clear light straw/copper color with an insufficient head that fades quick. some mild lacing on glass. Taste is faint and fluffy toffee/caramel, some fresh bread notes. Feels under carbonated which explains meager head. I think the idea was to let you savor the delicious hops and malts used, too much carbonation washes away the delicious complexity of this Marzen style. A great interpretation , maybe even tastier with Kanes choice of malts and hops which are similar but different than a traditional Marzen.
