Our IPA inspired by the fantastic apple cider donuts they make. We used Marris Otter malt with some oats and lactose and added apple cider, turbinado and jaggery sugars to the boil. We hopped it with Huell Melon in the whirlpool and dry hopped it with a new hop variety called Sabro. The combination of hops compliment the fruitiness of the apple cider and balance the malt sweetness from the combination of lactose and sugars.

Canned 11/12. A deep and opaque orange with frothy head that fades quickly but, leaves a thick ring of foam around the glass and patchy suds on the surface. Strong notes of apple cider on the nose, a little cinnamon, nutmeg, citrus, sweet with a little earthiness and pine. Taste is under ripe apple, pine, sweet citrus fruit, its more like a bitter and less sweet hard cider than a beer. The first sip felt very sharply carbonated but as I take more it feels a bit smoother. The apple cider comes through on the finish for sure as that is the lasting flavor.

Hazy gold pour, surprisingly subtle with all the flavor providers: apple cider, turnbinado, sugar, lactose--and it wasn't sweet! A very solid IPA however--good body, straightforward hop forward taste.

16 oz. can dated 11/12/18, released at brewery 11/21/18. Poured into teky glass.
L: 1F foamy head, not much retention and no lacing, just a ring. Beer is about an apple cider color, perhaps a tad lighter.
S: Faint hint of apple and sweetness, with other fruity scents.
T: Melange of fruitiness, slightly sweet and apple-cidery in nature, though apple cider donuts are sweet and at the end of the day Kane didn't really go for it, so it's more cider than donut. But not bad.
F: Lightish body, light to moderate carbonation. Construction is OK, reasonably well-balanced.
O: It's a nice beer on its own, but it misses the advertised mark.

The apples impart an odd tanginess that I do not like. Otherwise, the base ipa is pretty good, just has too much tanginess. Not for me.
