Black Tie Required is our 6.8% Brut IPA brewed with Belma hops and conditioned on Raspberries and Strawberries. Similar to Black Tie Optional, we used a light base malt of pilsner and rice then fermented it down to 0 degrees plato for a super-dry finish. Towards the end of fermentation we added over 2lbs per gallon of Raspberries and Strawberries to the fermenter, then dry-hopped with more Belma hops. Black Tie Required is big on raspberries and strawberry flavor from the large dose of fruit and accentuated by strawberry, citrus character of the Belma hop, but drinks dry and slightly tart from the low final gravity and acidity of the fruit.

Opaque pastel salmon with a short, bubbly pale Pepto blanket that dies to a thin ring.
Smell is Spree and smoothie, more fruity here than the palate, with seedy strawberry and raspberry.
This is a bitter-leaning sort of fruit champagne. It actually has that Brut character of tingly crispness that is quickly drying. While there's a decent fruit presence, it feels a bit acidic with a touch of aspirin on the finish, but it's not as bad as other beers with this undesirable characteristic, as it is far in the background.
This is more appetizing and drinkable than other Brut IPAs, but I'm so over this trend already. I get the feeling Kane maybe wanted to jump on this train in the beginning, then quickly realized it wasn't so great and just decided to throw a bunch of fruit into it.

Pours pink. Yes it is an IPA underneath, but sweetness from the red fruit takes over. It's well-made, but a clash of styles that leaves you with too little satisfaction from either.

Pours a hazy pinkish red almost like raspberry sherbet with a finger of pink head.
Smells of fresh tart raspberry and strawberry.
Both berries are present along with light citrus and white grapes. As it warms the citrus gives way to more wine like notes.
Tart dry finish, crisp. Good carb level.
Overall a tasty one for my first Brut IPA.

Pours an opaque strawberry color, very hazy and cloudy., minimal head. HUGE strawberry aroma with some raspberry mixed in. Tart and tangy, lots of strawberry and raspberry notes, very dry with a very unique bitter finish. Very different beer. Overall worth grabbing a 32oz growler.

Canned on 12/17/2018 and released on 12/29. Poured into a Kane snulip glass. It pours an opaque, earthy cranberry color with a small, foamy pink cap that dissipated quickly, and a thin sheen of lacing. The nose is surprisingly subdued but there is faint raspberry, strawberry, and floral hops. It opens with fresh raspberry and strawberry notes that are tasty but not very sweet. There follows dry, tart white grape and rice cake. The Belma hops add a unique, fresh taste but without much bitterness. This ale is light and crisp with a pleasant level of carbonation, and an easy drinking 6.8% ABV. Overall, while Brut IPA isn't a favorite style of mine, I enjoyed Black Tie Required more than the earlier iteration Black Tie Optional
