Look: Translucent, hazy, golden amber color with an off white head that disappears but leaves a ton lacing along the edge of the glass. The beer is not opaque.
Smell: Lemony, piney and earthy bay leaf/grassy/oregano hops.
Taste: Lemony and piney hops. A lot of orange citrus not present on the nose. A prominent sweet, bready, raw oatmeal, grainy malt profile. This beer has zero bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium level of carbonation that gently pricks the palate. Semi-sweet.
Overall: Damn this beer is great. Golden Promise, oats and wheat make for a prominent malt profile. Combined with all the staple flavors you’d expect from these classic American hops, you have a classic IPA with the bitterness stripped out. I’d actually love some bitterness here, which I think would elevate the beer to a whole other level Nonetheless, a fantastic IPA with OG hop flavor and an unabashed malt profile.
