Half-Timbered (6.4% oak-lagered German-Style Bock)was brewed with Continental Pilsner and Munich base malt, a small amount of caramunich, local chit malt from our friends @rabbit_hill_malthouse and hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh. It was lagered in a stainless tank for over a month than racked into a combination of first use bourbon and freshly emptied second use bourbon barrels. We moved those barrels into cold-storage where they lagered for another six weeks. The barrels were then blended together and canned. Half-Timbered is deep amber with a touch of sweetness, creamy mouthfeel, with just a hint of barrel character that produces a crisp, dry finish.

Another beautifully clear oak-aged lager by Kane, this displays as a blend of chestnut brown and dark auburn and has a persistently creamy, fluffy khaki head that slowly settles to a soft film and a thick curled collar.
The smoothly round and full body has a lightly fluffy carbonation delivering sweet maple and toffee accents to nutty brown bread, coming to a just dry finish that brings just a touch of warming bourbon on the exhale.

Sampler at Kane.
Interesting.
Very mellow. Whiskey and wood are most of the flavor, but the bock still imparts some barley, apple, yeast flavors.
Probably a good light option for the consomate bourbon drinker.

L: Amber with a finger of tan white head that fades quickly.
S: Caramel, toffee, grain and a hint of oak.
T: More sweet caramel and toffee with some vanilla slight oakiness. Not really bitter at all
F: Medium carb and body with a nice smooth mouthfeel and finish.
Overall, a nice bock with little bitterness and a little sweeter than normal but that's fine by me!

Lagered in bourbon barrels. The wood undertones are subtle, hence the "half-timbered" title. German malts and hops give this an authentic German profile. Unique double lagering technique adds a neat twist. Glad to finished May with this bock.

A: clear, deep mahagony/cherry color with a hint of purple. 1 finger tan head. Beautiful beer
S: sweet caramel, grass, sweet grains, oak and a hint of lemongrass. Slight toffee as well with mellow roast
T: sweet caramel malts, sticky toffee, oak, and brown sugar. Vanilla, very slight bourbon and tannins behind that. Some chewy bready malts and more toffee and caramel to close it out
M: sticky, medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation
O: a barrel agenda Bock that didn’t spend much time in the barrels - and I think that’s a good thing. The sweetness from the tannins is a good compliment and not overpowering. Sweet and stick. A nice interpretation, definitely sweeter than a normal Bock , mouthfeel a bit thicker too
