Bierhalle is a solid German-style marzen. The chestnut barrel aged version, has a slight woody quality, more so than nutty. Found the flavor a bit thin at colder temps, so let this one get over 55 degrees in order to bring out deeper malty marzen flavor. Prost!

sample at brewery, side by side with Chestnut Sideshore.
LOOK: light brown color, clear , minimal head.
AROMA: chardonnay
TASTE: touch of wood, sweet and a touch of tart in the form of grape or apple.
FEEL: thin, light bodied, which is probably why it doesn't really carry the barrel character smoothly .
OK
