Blend of barrel-aged imperial stouts conditioned on toasted pecans, cacao nibs, and maple. Northern Hospitality was inspired by the sweet, nutty and delicious southern dessert staple, pecan pie. To begin we hand-selected spirit barrels from our stock of over 200 barrels that would best complement those flavors. We chose to blend a mixture of imperial stouts that were aged in Scotch, Oloroso Sherry, and Woodford Reserve Malt Whiskey barrels. We then cold-conditioned the blend for over a month to let the flavors from the barrels develop. Finally, the blend was conditioned on Haitian and Dominican cacao nibs, toasted pecans, and maple. Northern Hospitality is a real treat with a delicate sweetness, prominent nutty and toffee character, and oak tones throughout from the extended barrel-aging.

Pours very dark and syrupy, hard to get any foam head, even with a very aggressive pour. Great aroma - loads of chocolate with a little nuttiness as well. Flavor is dominated by chocolate, maple blends into the background, and the pecans are interlaced throughout and are delicious. The blend of barrels present an intricate finish that lingers. Full bodied, viscous, thick and creamy, carbonation lends itself to a velvety texture. Overall, a fantastic beer that very few brewery’s have the depth and experience to attempt. Kane nailed this one. World class beer.

A good stout but heavy on the scotch barrels.
Edit: second bottle was amazing; way more nuts and roasted notes. Sweet caramel and chocolate, really like this one.
