Bottle to snifter (and also partially a coffee mug). Happy Fathers Day to me. Served with ALL THE EGGS AND BACON my wife could cook.
LOOK: super dark thick jet black. small light brown head fades and has poor retention. glassy sheen replaces head when it no longer reforms.
AROMA: chocolate, hint of coffee but it is mostly lost in the sweet chocolate.
TASTE: more cocoa than coffee, but I get a better flavor of that exceptional rook coffee in the taste giving a much needed bitter finish. Chocolate flavor is sweet and a mixture of dry cocoa powder and hershey's syrup.
FEEL: flat, but thick and chewy. full bodied.
Interesting variant, but hard to improve upon the standard Morning Bell which is close to perfect. The sweetness from the chocolate overpowers the coffee and also I just realized the barrel aging. Even going back and searching for it, I get no bourbon and very little oak.

Pours very dark with a fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Incredible mocha aroma: milk chocolate and coffee blended perfectly. A little boozy, bourbon barrel aroma is strong. Flavor is amazing - like coffee chocolate milk. Perfectly balanced coffee and chocolate intermingle with vanilla from the barrel aging, which compliment each other. Sweetness is kept in check perfectly. Carbonation creates a creamy texture. Overall a fantastic BA version of a phenomenal base beer.
