Double Barrel-Aged French-Toast inspired Imperial Stout.

For this year’s release (6/2022) we aged an Imperial Stout brewed with Maple Syrup for 16 months in a blend of Eagle Rare and E.H. Taylor Small Batch bourbon barrels. It was then finished in a Runamok Maple Vermont maple syrup barrel. After cold conditioning in stainless, we added Korintje Cinnamon and freshly scrapped Madagascar vanilla beans.

Dripping Maple opens with decadent aromatics of fresh baked cinnamon rolls and maple-drenched French toast. The maple syrup and vanilla meld together to bring a smooth, creamy mouthfeel that supports the chocolatey bourbon profile of the blend.

this is as good as it gets, so much of what kane does in this huge imperial beer space is, weird that the hype doesnt seem to have caught up to them the way it should have by now, they absolutely slay this kind of thing, and i would rank this among their best ever in my experience. a big imperial stout brewed with maple syrup, then aged in a couple of different high quality bourbon barrels, it then got a second barrel treatment in maple syrup barrels, before getting conditioned on cinnamon and vanilla, wow! what a process and what a result! matte black from the keg with an inch of lasting tan foam on it, leggy but not grossly thick, abyssal, sexy, more active than a lot of these. the nose is truly dripping maple, rightly named, the good stuff too, dark amber and pure, cinnamon is warming with some alcohol coming through, epic bourbon profile here too, leading into the natural fragrant vanilla, charred oak, a hint of coffee, licorice, leather, brown sugar, and dark chocolate, impressively dynamic, and the proportions of cinnamon and vanilla are awesome, just right, still maple stout first, very compelling. the flavor is just as good, maple from start to finish, lots of it, and i love the maple in the beer with the maple from the barrel, they seem different but complimentary, hit at different times and at different levels of sweetness, bridged together by all the bourbon in this, it could just as well be called dripping bourbon. the cinnamon is awesome, real natural and not overdone, ramps up towards the end, rides the maple sweetness, and the vanilla is similar, late climaxing but present the whole way, brings out the chocolate character in the dark malt, the complimentary vanilla layer of the whiskey, and makes this regal and fancy. the cool thing is that there is some bitterness too so its not all palate coating residual sugar, there is some deep roast to this, espresso character. the finish is actually kind of fast for what it is. incredible marriage of flavors here, gold standard on the cinnamon and vanilla, so honest here, perfectly dosed, and the texture is smooth, warming, and refined without being big just for the sake of it. this really did it for me, a treat to drink, and another banger from kane in this space. cant say enough about this one, not to be missed for the maple freaks like me!

Pours thick and pitch black, minimal head. Aroma is cinnamon, bourbon barrel, boozy, chocolate. Flavor is cinnamon, decadent milk chocolate, semi sweet maple candy, ample bourbon barrel flavor. Reminds me of ANTEAD - rich and decadent. Has a nice semi-bitter espresso finish. Light carbonation and thick texture create a fantastic creaminess. Overall a phenomenal beer.

I should like this a lot more than I do. All the components are there for this to be an elite barrel aged stout. I can’t put my finger on it right now but to me it’s just really solid with something holding it back.

11/26/20 - Happy Thanksgiving.

Bottle to snifter, while buttering, sage-ing and bacon-ing up the Turkey.

LOOK: dark black, swirling tan head.

AROMA: Maple and bourbon. Light cinnamon.

TASTE: Maple and cinnamon dominate. Lighter cocoa notes are nice. Bourbon is subtle addition. Well executed. 15%abv is well muted. Oaky finish.

FEEL: Full body. Below average carbonation, even for the style. Very smooth. I think the cognac barrel provides a nice smoothing service.

Been itching to open this since I got it, but today was the perfect day, while buttering up my turkey and anticipating the Maple Syrup Basting over the next 5 hours.

Very tasty. In addition to a very nice maple inclusion, the cinnamon is nice.
