This bottle was the result of a conversation with two friends of the brewery, @genereda and @oscruz, several years ago. They had two freshly emptied barrels hand selected from their favorite distillery in Kentucky as part of a bourbon project they worked on with some friends. They asked if we wanted to fill their barrels so that we could collectively release the beers to raise money for a local charity.
We filled one with a small batch English barleywine. After an extended aging period of close to two years in barrels, we moved them to stainless to condition earlier this year.

Pours a clear dark amber, ample head that fades. Fantastic aroma of dark brown sugar, molasses, bourbon barrel, leather, some tobacco. Very complex, like a good rum. Taste follows nose, tons of dark brown sugar and molasses, barrel flavor is very noticeable. Has a nice espresso finish, slight bitterness which perfectly balanced out the sweetness. Medium bodied, pretty syrupy, with light carbonation. Overall, Kane does it again. Just an exceptional BA Barleywine. Can’t wait to see how my second bottle ages!

3/26/23 - second bottle is crap. Must be infected. Fizzy pour, fairly flavorless. #Disappointed…
