Soothing, mellow and still robust all at once, this beer is a wakeup call for the fall season. Spiced with the common flavors of pumpkin pie, Kane's imperial milk porter is the autumn season in a glass.
Dark brown and looking the appearance of a frothy coffee, Pumpkin Spice Morning Bell greets the nose with a milky vanilla scent, a deeper coffee sense of boldness and then a sprinkle of pumpkin pie in predictable form. A moderately sweet upstart is malty with caramel, honey, light toffee and coffee cake.
As the flavors swirl on the middle palate, the beer slowly weaves in the spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, ginger and allspice while remaining sweeter and robust with toasted grains to resemble coffee latte, chocolate and pecan. As a mild mannered bitterness rises in the finish, the sweetness slowly softens and the spice gradually rises for a warming spice accent on the late palate.
Full bodied but somehow reading relaxed to the palate, the soothing vanilla-like softness has the beer seeming much less imperial in taste than it is in all actuality. A medium long finish of spice and coffee linger slightly palate a bold cola-like sweetness for a seasonable session to greet the cooling air perfectly.
