Each year we create a new blend for this barrel-aged favorite. This year's is a 13.1% blend of bourbon maple barrel and double barrel aged ales.
We started with a high gravity stout that was aged in Buffalo Trace Blanton's Bourbon barrels that were previously used for Vermont Maple Syrup. That was blended with a second beer that had spent 27 months in Willet barrels before being finished in a Pineau des Charentes cask.
The final blend has an average age of 25 months with flavor notes of maple, milk chocolate, toffee, figs, and cognac.

Pours pretty dark with a light mocha head that fizzles out quickly retaining a small ring around the glass. Big bourbon aroma mixes with sharp peaty scotch, strong maple and milk chocolate. Flavor is sweet maple, loads of brown sugar, strong bourbon flavor, lots of dark fruit, fig newtons, milk chocolate, raisins. Long brown sugar finish. Medium bodied, light carbonation adds to a creamy texture. Overall a delicious beer!
