Double Barrel Amburana Wooden Cleat is our 12.9% Double Barrel-Aged Barleywine. It began as a single cask of barleywine that was aged for over 13 months in a single 13-year-Old Forester bourbon cask. From there it was racked into a single Amburana wood cask to finish.

I don't have much experience with Amburana, but Oskar Blues Bamburana was a revelation. The base beer offers rich toffee, sweet raisin, plenty of bourbon, and a little chocolate covered cherry. The amburana adds earthy wood throughout which builds in intensity and a dessert like cinnamon note at the finish. Overall this is great, a lot of fun to drink and an absolutely unique experience.

Pours a deep reddish brown color, minimal light tan head. Aroma is boozy rum raisin, fig newtons, rum soaked luxardo cherries, dark fruit, light cinnamon. Flavor starts with sweet cherries, dark brown sugar, light cinnamon, rum barrel aged bourbon, and a light dusting of chocolate. Delicious. Light carbonation adds to a creamy texture. Overall a delicious DBA barley wine, I just love the amburana flavor.
