4015 is our 13.8% blend of Barrel-Aged Ales that was created to commemorate our 11th Anniversary. Since our First Anniversary release, 365, we have reserved a portion of each year’s release so it can be blended the following year to create the next Anniversary Ale. By doing each one of our Anniversary releases contains a piece of our brewing past. ⁣

4015 combines small pieces of the last decade of our barrel-ageing program with all the complexities of our current barrel stock.⁣

Pours fairly dark and thin, bubbly carbonated head that fades quickly. Aroma is light cocoa powder and bourbon barrel essence. Light booziness. Flavor is light chocolate, rich caramel, some light brown sugar, pretty good bourbon barrel flavor. Short finish, not too sweet. Surprisingly thin and light bodied. Overall, not my favorite beer from Kane…

2022 vintage

I don’t usually hold onto beers for too long if I don’t plan on cellaring them, but I’ve had this bottle for damn near a year and haven’t cracked it open until now. Hell, I forgot I had it until I saw it in the basement a few days ago. The last Kane anniversary beer I had was damn good, so I have high hopes for this one. Let’s pop it open and see what it has to offer

Pours an opaque medium brown with 2 fingers of tan head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing

The nose is very sweet and boozy, though not with much complexity to back it up. I’m picking up on aromas of brown sugar, sweet vanilla, toasted oak, raisin, molasses, sweet whiskey, caramel, and light walnut

Things turn even sweeter in taste and it never really opens up unfortunately. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting molasses, sweet vanilla, burnt caramel, sweet whiskey, buttery oak, creme brûlée, and light raisin. The swallow brings notes of brown sugar, molasses, raisin, burnt caramel, toasted oak, sweet whiskey, light cognac, and vanilla frosting

A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes boozy and cloying

If anything, the sweetness here makes the mouthfeel suffer the most. This wasn’t the worst thing ever, but I can only take so much of it
