To achieve its distinctive flavor, we added a slight bittering addition in the kettle with Columbus hops before a large dose of Centennial in the whirlpool. We added a large charge of Simcoe in the first dry hop and added a second round of Amarillo, Centennial, and Columbus hops for a truly layered experience.

I'm a big fan of Overhead so it's an honor to write the first BA review of the TIPA version. Canned on 7/5/2023 and released on 7/7. Poured into a snulip glass. It pours a cloudy, bright golden-orange color with two fingers of fluffy, snow white cap and lots of thick, creamy lacing. The nose is bold and fragrant with lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, and ripe melon. Wow! The flavor opens with big, sweet peach and honeydew but it's immediately balanced by tart, almost bitter lemon and grapefruit. But what truly sets the taste apart from its older cousin is the pine - it's not really resinous but fresh an reminds me of early Equilibrium IPAs. The additional Columbus in the boil gives it extra bitterness throughout. The flavors blend perfectly. It's delicious! The mouth feel is surprisingly lite and clean for the 10.2% ABV. It drinks very easily. Overall, Epic Overhead is an appropriate name. This is superlative drinking. Kane took what I think is the best regularly available DIPA in New Jersey to the next level. It would be a crime if Kane doesn't release Epic Overhead at least once a year.
