Kane Barrel Aged Holy Nights Imperial Pastry Stout, 13.4% ABV. Pours thick and black with a ring of light-brown bubbles that left wispy lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate and light bourbon. Taste is roast malt, fudgey chocolate, and vanilla, moderately sweet, slightly bitter, no bourbon burn. Excellent smooth and thick mouthfeel, leaving slightly sticky lips. Overall world-class.

Pours very dark, zero head. Gobs of chocolate on the nose, followed by sweet vanilla. Flavor is loads chocolate, it has a sharp vanilla bite, finish is light toasted coconut. Carbonation is minimal. Overall, I don’t notice the coffee, which is ok with me, and I wish it had more coconut. The vanilla has a bit of an overpowering quality but I can get past that. Very good, glad I bought 2. Hoping the vanilla fades in the next 6-12 months.
