growler from the brewery poured into tulip - thanks Wiid!
Pours a chestnut brown color with some brighter reddish hues. Thinner tanned head bubbles up, dissolving into some spotty lacing with wispy film coating the top of the brew.
Nice roasty, nutty malt character in the nose. The vanilla bean is definitely present, adding a hint of sweetness which meshes nicely with the chocolate. A little bready as well.
Nutty and bready up front with a light sweetness from the vanilla beans and malt. Chocolate and caramel are still apparent in the malt base, which rides a nice balance of sweet, but not too sweet. Hints of bread and oatmeal as well. Finishes somewhat dry and crisp on the tongue.
Medium body, decent carbonation, pretty smooth and easy drinking. The vanilla is a nice addition to the beer, giving it a little extra push in the right direction. I love seeing this interesting variations on base beers from Kane - keep it coming!
