Notes: It doesn’t matter what we brew
as long as we mix wheat and citra
That makes us feel we’ll convey some juicy notes or fruit impression
To confuse the issue we will add
Some pleasant yeast, from far away
Plus some Vic Secret for good measure
No matter how much we resist the bend
Some dry-hopping causes our resolve to break
Because the hops bring us back
On that we can rely
The hops bring us back

Can to snifter. Canned 7/12/19.

LOOK: light yellow with a hint of orange ,mildly hazy, medium foamy White head. good retention, head leaves legs on side of glass.
AROMA: sharp melon, grass. A little earthy ; light hints of citrus.
TASTE: rind, veggie. Not really pleasant at first few sips, but there are some lemony citrus notes that are cause for optimism, but it devolves as the rind/veggie becomes more promunent and cloying.
FEEL: medium to good carbonation, medium bodied.

Disappointed. Some above average peripherals, but taste is not pleasant and that is king. This is NOT Sneakbox.

Carton’s version of Kane’s Sneak Box... aka Hop Lab Citra for all us Jersey hop head OGs!!! Great summer beer, and I think not as heavy and a little more crisp than Sneakbox! Very impressed with this Carton brew! It just may be the best beer I’ve had from Carton! Wow, Super refreshing!

Pours opaque, deep golden, with a quickly receding white fizzy head, leaves significant lacing in glass. Smells like a juicy IPA which it is not, A fruity, funky, grassy smell. Taste is of wow, melons, berries, pineapple, hops, yeast, fruit cake. Feels well put together. Nice carbonation, Finishes juicy. OK, I am sold. Super solid American pale ale. Well done.

16 oz can. Pours hazy golden with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and bready malt. Body is full and crisp. Herbal hops dominate the flavor with ripe fruit and bready malt in the background. Finish is long and dry. Very good brew.

Canned 18 days ago.

Pours murky orange with a thin white head.

The nose is orange, peach, and dough, and the taste follows. New-school Citra hops on the frontend, with subtle bread and bitterness on the backend. Orange, peach, and pineapple notes.

The mouthfeel is medium for the ABV.

Overall, tasty.

Hazy, bright, orangey-papaya body with white bubbly head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, papaya, mango, grass, and some pine. Tastes of papaya, lemon, citrus with rind, grass, pine, light-medium bitterness. Light bodied with medium carbonation.

On tap n a nonic pint glass.

Washed out and slightly hazed pale straw yellow color with a 1F pure white colored cap. Lots of lacing.

All the juice beer fruits with no malt or wheat base.

So goes the flavor, see above. Tropical and stone fruits blended. No malt.

Light and watery with modest hop bitterness.

Not my cup of fruit, Sandy Hook deserves better.

A; slightly hazy straw yellow color with a hint orange. Thin bright white head

S: oranges, pineapple, papaya, grapefruit , crackers, and a hint of guava and melon

T: melon, guava, orange pith, sweet lemons, clementine, and some mild earthy hops

M: lighter side of medium. Strong carbonation

O: a pretty decent pale ale. It bridges the gap between traditional and NE style, in a good way

Thrilled to be first reviewer of the HOOK. Happy name for our community as it lays inside the bayward curve of Sandy Hook that separates our bay shores from the Atlantic, and over which we see Manhattan gliding silver, golden, or gray - depending on the time of day.
A) This beer slams forward with fruit in the late hopped NE pale style. Hazed bomb with puffy white lacing and lasting head.
S) Fruit I wanted to dive in. Hop fresh barrel.
T) Hop fruit wheat treat.
F) Slick, finishes clean and bitey.
O) One of the best contemporary NE style late hopped fruit pale ales ever.
