Crisis Mandated Beer Release. Quarantine Machine, a West Coast IPA. Everything is moving so quickly. This crisis has created one gigantic problem after another, luckily we’re professional problem solvers at Smog. We brewed a beer for bars and restaurants and our taprooms that no longer has a home. So we’ve renamed it and are focused on ensuring it doesn’t go to waste.

Misc.: Canned on Jan. 22, 2021
Got this and way too many beers on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Pretty much picked this up without even looking at what was in it. Later on I saw on their website that they described it as “Crisis Mandated Beer Release. Quarantine Machine, a west coast IPA. Everything is moving so quickly. Poured a medium yellow-to-golden clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Mosaic jumped out on the nose. Also blueberry, bubblegum, floral, rose blossom, Simcoe, dank pine, resin, black pepper and earthy malt. Much more earthy Simcoe out of the can. Definitely underrating the smell at 4.00. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Mosaic up front, Simcoe in the back. Specifically mixed berry, bubblegum, floral, rose blossom, black pepper, dank resin, pine, earthy malt, grapefruit rind, garlic and herbal. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Underrated this overall but outstanding at least. Such a good West Coast IPA. (Overall - 4.00)

oily but not in a good way -- slippery rather than resiny

Umm, yeah... It’s just a basic, ho-hum West Coast offering like a Malibu sunrise or twilight at Dodger Stadium. Yep - Vin Scully buzzing over the airwaves... Biting into a beef dip from Phillipe’s... A walk around Echo Park Lake... It just is what is it. And Raul is ok with that.
