On tap at Smog City satellite location in Glendora, CA.
Clear, brassy gold. Fluffy white head forms nicely but tapers off to a thin ring. Light lacing. Low retention.
Nose: Slightly pithy citrus zest mixed with grass. A mild herbal spice comes through as well.
Taste is a more bitter forward grapefruit zest meets tropical. Hints of mango, non-sweet pineapple, berry and an earthy grain note. But all leans dry in the bitterness. A lot you going on here.
Mouthfeel is solid, lighter side of medium, good carb, and again that dry finish to the bitter.

Clear yellow brew with plenty of foam in the snifter. Modest aroma of citrus. Seems bitter from the start, but actually this is pretty good. I seem to have citrus peel stuck in my palate this evening, but stands to reason since the hops are Idaho 7, Citra, and Motueka. Lemon and a touch of sweet orange with some mango and a moderate bitter aftertaste. The collaborator, Pizza Port, released their companion "Burn Out the Night" but it's a black IPA and totally different. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea Brewing. Dated 12/13/23.

Collaboration with Pizza Port. Packaged on December 22, 2023 - enjoyed on January 21, 2024 - poured from a pint can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Golden yellow to amber gradient, lightly cloudy, tall dense white cap; fluffy lacing, excellent retention.

Beguiling aroma suffused with tropical fruit (passion fruit, mango, etc.) and lower notes of cara cara orange alongside some floral and herbal hints.

Papaya, candied ginger, toasted sugar, watermelon, strawberry, and orange on the palate entry. Moderately bitter throughout with a dry faintly earthy finish. Wonderful showcase of hops (Iowa 7, Motueka, Citra).

Medium bodied, lightly creamy/oily but crisp and refreshing.

As good as just about any of Pizza Port's seasonal Swami's variants in terms of hop presence/synergy, with a touch more body as well - very pleased with this one.

Looks...not that special. Quarter inch of head dissipates into nothing. Clear and yellow. Cool, it's a West Coast IPA so nothing wrong here.

Smells...amazing! Crispy cracker malts are there in the background but it's tons of hops to the face. Lemongrass, juicy stonefruits, etc.

Taste follows the nose, this is a hoppy yet very well-balanced beer that is both flavorful and crazy drinkable in terms of its dry finish and well-balanced hop profile.

Mouthfeel is superb. Big and substantial but finishes dry. So medium-dry.

Overall: I'd drink this anytime. It could pair well with bigger, bolder foods or can be consumed by itself which is what I'm doing right now.

The drawback: lack of availability and it's pricey. So, 4/5 for me but the smell, taste, and feel are all A+.
