That's right. We didn't scavenge the aisles of our local Mariano's for this citrus. The scrappy Dave Odd of Odd Produce hit the road and then hit the grove to find lemons, tangerines, and oranges growing wild in the untamed, muggy, forests of Florida. The citrus blends beautifully with the saison yeast, offering a bright compliment to the beer's spicy fruit character. Time to bust out those party jorts, and let those pale legs breathe, because you don't need sunscreen to drink up this sunshine.

Somewhere between Witbier and Saison. Bubble gummy flavors with oranges/bananas. Pretty good outdoors beer. Expected a citrus bomb considering its Pipeworks, but it was really mellow

Got it at Binny's!
A - Voluminous white foam sizzles to nothing. Hazy apricot juice body. Not much of a looker here.
S - Smells like spicy Saison yeast and sharp citrus peel. Reminds me a lot of Will's Saison, but with out the chamomile. The citrus integrates with the yeast character; I'm not sure I'd expressly know there were adjuncts here. Some sweet malt and citrus flesh provide balance.
T - Taste is more typical Saison, with yeasty bread, a bit of peppery spice, and light citrus peel. Lemon is the main fruit character, but again I would just chalk it up to the base beer if I didn't know better.
M - Active, moderate carbonation. Medium-body with good heft and some light grit to it. Chewy, with a lightly sticky finish that evokes fresh citrus fruit.
D - A nice Saison. A tad sweet like many American Saisons, and I wish there was more fruit character to distinguish it from other Pipeworks offerings that are similar. Still, pretty easy drinking.

Bomber, poured into a tulip glass at approximately 45 degrees F.
Appearance: Bright golden-orange, with a decent white head with good retention.
Smell: Definitely a citrus beer, heavy with notes of orange, grapefruit, and tartness.
Taste: This is a citrus explosion in the mouth, a burst of slightly tart orange, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine, all mingled together and shifting. I don't get much funk or sourness, just the slight tartness. I imagine this is what people who don't have my sensitivity to hops get from drinking IPAs described as "fruity".
Mouthfeel: Lively and light, this goes down smooth.
Overall: This was pretty tasty, utterly devoid of hops while delivering a massive citrus payload and completely hiding the fact that it had alcohol in it. Would repeat.
