Ultra Premium Lager emerges from the swaying barley fields and intertwined hop bines like an oasis on the desert horizon.

Crisp? You better believe it.
Cool? It’s perfectly chill(ed).
Refreshing? The epitome.

A clear choice in a sea of light, lagery options, Ultra excels on the taste buds and dazzles in glass.

Had on tap. Clear golden body with a white head that dies down in a hurry. Cracker, doughy bread, lemon and grassy hops in the nose in that order of intensity. Taste has the following order instead: lager malt, cracker, lemon zest, doughy bread, grain, grassy hops. Feel is thin and crisp, malty and bright. Simple but does nothing too poorly besides head retention

I bought a couple of cans at the LCBO near me poured into glass with a one finger head that left a lace as you drink it which is always good in a beer the smell is amazing and the beer is very enjoyable.
Zesty lime fruits Green apples an easy going lager beer especially good-for a party.
Much better then Coors light I had to say that very in important.
Cheers

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned April 25/25. My 31st beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 5th for 2026. Lovingly embraced by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Nov 11 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear straw yellow colour, fitted with an inch of tight, foamy white head that melts away within the next couple of minutes. Its remnants include a thin collar and a spotty film on the surface, with a decent smattering of lace for good measure - looks fine so far. Grainy aroma with hints of doughy malts, sourdough bread and a faint whiff of grassy hops and lemon. Smells very clean, and the nose is fairly potent for a 4% pale lager.

It's obviously not the most interesting beer you'll ever drink, but it's still a quality craft lager. Straightforward flavour profile of grainy, doughy malts and some very light bready sweetness, followed by hints of grassy, floral hops on the back end. Grain husk in the aftertaste, which quickly fades to dry. Light in body, with moderately active carbonation that adds some crispness to this light lager's smooth mouthfeel. Super crushable, or maybe ultra crushable would be more appropriate.

Final Grade: 3.89, a B+. It's hard to get too excited about Ultra Premium Lager, but at the end of the day, it really is a damn good light beer. At $3.50 per tallboy, it's significantly cheaper than most Bellwoods products, but I wouldn't say it's especially good value - I mean, it's still pricier than the average craft-brewed Ontario lager equivalent. Readily available Euro lagers and pilsners such as Czechvar, Bitburger, Hacker-Pschorr et al. also provide better value IMO, but Ultra Premium is still a quality light Canadian craft lager that I'm sure I'll drink again.

Want a real legit review? Here we go. Regular Lager Beer with no Bull-shit attached.
For a 4% " Light " beer you got the grainy tastes of a 5% + beer no problem. The foam head dies quick, but the flavor does not. Color is lighter than expected but right for a 4% beer. I thought it would be just another run of the mill light lager. Nope. I was wrong and wrong big time. I checked the can a couple times to confirm this is a 4% beer.
Before you drink, right away you can smell pizza dough or bread dough. Take a sip and yep, just as expected. Bread, Dough, Flour and all of that is what you want in a Lager beer. Good representative of a Lager. I like it. As a matter of fact i think i like all of the Bellwood's variety pack that i bought so far EXCEPT their Export Stout. Way too many stouts are better than theirs, and trust me I know...Although their 4% Nitro Dry Stout is pretty good...just not the "6.5% Export Stout".

Ok, so everyone is Premium right? Picture this....a farm field of golden barley gently blowing in the wind. Take a sip of this beer.......and.....Yeah.... You get a farm field of barely gently blowing in the wind taste.
Got my vote for real premium.

Bellwood's is officially on my good list after trying Multiple IPA's...Lager....and Nitro Stout. Some are better than others.....Lager is your standard must buy. I shouldn't, but i really do judge a brewery by their lager. If you can't make a lager, then you might not be good at making any beer at all. Yep... i went there. Master your plain old lager first before you do anything else.
If your Coors, then you just suck at everything. Bellwood's isn't your hippy micro beer. I think they are Macro...they sell a ton of beer and make even more than that. They do a pretty good damn good job at what they do though, let me tell ya, eh. I hope they make a better stout in the future though...but until then i am almost as certain as the sun that I will buy again from their website for a Ontario Nation Wide Beer Free Delivery....they got lots of stuff and I'm interested to try more and will include this lager in next order. I really will.
So the next time your surf the web for good lagers or anything that deals with good beers then add " Ultra Premium" to your cart. If you don't like it then i owe you a beer...just walk up to any random guy somewhere in a bar or a place that serves beer in Barrie Ont. and say " Bellwood's Ultra Premium Lager Beer" and I'll buy you a couple beers wherever we are at. I might even buy you beers all night until you can't take any more because I'll feel KOOL that you saw my review somewhere. 100% legit. See you if you can find me...Barrie Ontario!

Buy Canadian, Eh?

Pours crystal clear staw gold with a crackly, persistent head. The aroma is of light bready, cracker malts and light herbal hops. The taste is of pale malts and a touch of herbal hops. The mouthfeel is light bodied with prickly carbonation. No bitterness in the light finish.

A nice, if a little bland considering the brewery, take on a light lager.

Canned August 13, 2024. Served cold into a beer mug. LCBO purchase.

Appearance - Clear bright golden brew capped with a quarter finger of white head. Quite a few bubbles rise to the surface.

Smell - Clean and grainy with a slight floral accent. Light aroma but has depth.

Taste - Light and grainy, refreshing, light bready malts throughout. Low in bitterness, but not sweet either.

Mouthfeel - Crisp with sufficient carbonation, very easy drinking. A great cutting the lawn beer.

Overall - A solid offering from Bellwoods with no frills attached. Straightforward and easy drinking, this is also a beer you could work away at over the course of an afternoon and knock off a few without feeling bloated or letting the ABV get to you. Good lager.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A two finger white head on a clear yellow. the head diminished to a thin layer. Some patchy lacing.

Very light malt smells.

Almost imperceptible smoked malt up front. An interesting very mild citrus fruity finish.

Light body. Moderate+ carbonation.

A clean crisp lager. True to the style but better than average.
