Have been digging Societe beers lately, at least more than I used to. I still think most are slightly overrated, but still getting better for me. This one was described as, “World of Wonders IPA journeys into the juicy territory of Southern Hemisphere hops and sticks the landing for a clean fish.” Mentioned hops were New Zealand Cascade, Bruce, Motueka, and Idaho 7. Pretty familiar with Cascade, Motueka and Idaho 7, but had never heard of Bruce. Online profile called for gooseberry, citrus peel, ripe tropical fruit and orange blossom. So to me Nelson meets Mandarina Bavaria or even Amarillo? Was looking forward to this.

Poured a mostly clear pale color with four fingers of rocky white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled lemon zest, grass, herbal, tea, grapefruit, citrus peel, tangerine and orange blossom. For hops I would think more Idaho 7 and Motueka than Cascade and Bruce. Smelled a little better out of the can. (Smell - 3.50)

Tasted a little better than the nose with a couple different flavors. In order got lemon zest, bitter citrus peel, pine, herbal, tea, grass, tangerine, orange blossom and grapefruit. In terms of hops, more balanced than the nose to me with Motueka, Cascade and Idaho 7, and lesser Bruce. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Very good overall. I’d have this again. (Overall - 3.75)

Crystal clear, see through beer with a difficult to distinguish scent, but the taste lives up to the quote upon the can, "Fruity, Juicy, Snappy". Feels quite carbonated on the tongue, fizzing from front to back. Delicious, dank IPA, happy to enjoy this one anytime. Drank from a 16 oz can dated 11/25/20.

Yeah - I like dat. This one is as West Coast as tucking into a barrel at Newport Pier. Pull out, walk the nose, then head in for some TK Burger. After that, you look at your babe, thank the universe for creation, and do it all over again the next day.

Peace!

Clear yellow brew with a greenish hint, and plenty of foam in the Societe nonic. Sprightly mouthfeel with a lush carbonation. Lovely aroma that hints at papaya along with the citrus. Tastes of green plums, green melon, and not-quite-ripe apricots. Crisp but not overly acidic. The nose of fruity hops goes on and on.

Moderate bitter aftertaste with the sweet malt still on the lips. Another way to achieve balance. This is another of the fruity, elegant, and less abrasive IPAs I've been happy to find in southern California. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine Y Vine. Dated 10/09/20 on the bottom.
