Packaged in October, 2024 - enjoyed on December 15th, 2024 - poured from a pint can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.
Nearly clear Naples yellow body fed by a steady stream of micro-bubbles forming three fingers of dense cosmic latte stiff peaks. Rocky lacing; superior retention.
Candied orange, wild grass, and complex yet subtle tropical notes in the nose. Bright and lasting.
Sticky, deeply resinous flavor profile with potent bitterness shot through with grapefruit and evergreen. Light caramel and toast from the malt which adds heft and balance. Neutral yeast. Long fairly dry finish.
Medium bodied, crisp carbonation, refreshing yet slightly warming.
Excellent, fairly traditional WCIPA - more aggressively flavorful/hop-forward than other offerings I've had from Societe.

Excellent West Coast IPA! Very well balanced in terms of flavors and mouthfeel.
I really enjoyed every sip and as it warmed up, I didn't find any of the hop flavors to be off putting or overly wrought.
My impressions remembered from yesterday: tons of citrus, herbal, and dank aromas and flavors. Bitter but balanced by the excellent malts which provide a medium mouthfeel that finishes on the dry side. Makes you want to take another sip.
Very well done by a brewery that has become one of my very favorites!

Clear dark golden yellow color is handsome; modest foam in the chalice. Aroma of pineapple and dark wood. Taste is dark and woodsy with a bitter aftertaste. Dark pine, dark resins, but enlivened with the fruity flavors of lime and pineapple. This is quite complex and would be sensational if it wasn't quite so bitter. Even some sweetness and malt. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea Brewing. Dated 09/23/24.

Unknown depths…? Have you? Or really, Raul, what about yourself? Totally been there. In the moment and straight up riding with the flow of things. Oh, we are crossing county lines? Didn’t expect that tonight. And I’m feeling it. Sometimes you just gotta let the current take you away (that’s if you jumped into the deep end in the first place).
Either way, Raul is vibing on Societe Deep Currents because it’s nice and just does the damn thing. It’s not going down the big slide at the water park just after a kid did with diarrhea. It’s just a soft ride down a stream where maybe Natalie Portman is waiting for you along the way.
To hell with it, my children. I think at times you just have to close your eyes, release all fear, and jump into a wild flow.
Let’s go… Or maybe let go. You are the one that has to choose.

Consumed a bit more than 2 weeks after canning. Not much to look at; barely 1/4 inch of short lived head. Some chill haze. No lacing. Dankness consistent with the can description. Some bitter citrus….
Revision based on a tasting on 12/8 of can dated 10/2/24. Unlike before, I got 2 fingers of nearly meringue- like head with decent longevity and some lacing in a tall tulip.
