On tap in a standard pint glass. A first timer with Sloop for me.
The pour showed a very dark chocolate brown, near black, brew. No head from said pour, mocha colored film at most, and just a few spots of foam left on the glass.
Dark cocoa, heavily roasted (baked!) malt, and strong coffee. A shot of sugar.
More coffee flavor than expected. Lots of dark and gooey chocolate. The roasted malt takes on a charred quality.
Medium body, lacking in carbonation. Slightly sweet and quite abv friendly.
A good version of the style but carbonation was an issue.

Pours jet black. Limited nose. Tastes of chocolate and coffee. Limited head and carbonation. Smooth beer and very drinkable. Decent finish and mouthfeel.

Canned on 10/9/18; consumed on 10/25/18. Glad to see Sloop's new facility is up and running and they're now canning beers.
A: Poured into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is black, with brown edges when backlit. Small tan head settles quickly.
S: Chocolatey malt over roasted barley malt.
T: Chocolate, roasted barley malt, malted milk. Touch of cocoa and dark chocolate bitterness. Tasty, but not a "big" chocolate stout at all. Chocolate is somewhat subdued (surprisingly).
M: About medium in body; carbonation is faint.
O: An easy-drinking, relatively light stout that has a modest amount of chocolate on the palate. I like.

Might I say refreshing--for a stout!?... Yes its not thick, because its not BA...but has the right amount of carbonation, and is chocolatey, not too sweet, and utterly crushable...

10-19-18 barch, brewed at the Factory in Hopewell Junction
"Milk stout brewed with malted oats, chocolate roasted barley and lactose/rested on cocoa nibs"
Tall can, purchased at the source.
Pours dark and stout like, mocha cap lasts nicely and leaves fine stands of lacing.
Fragrant milk chocolate on the nose.
Smooth, creamy and tasty, more milk chocolate and malted milk all over this one. Happy to see this one being made by (fine with me) NEIPA centric Sloop...might fine stuff...go get some
