Can. Pale clear gold with lasting ring. Very mild herbal aroma. Crackery bready malty medium sweetness and mild herbal finish. Very light body with fine carbo. Nothing wrong with it except its style.

Can purchased and drank at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very clear golden straw yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
There’s a just a little bit of hop character on the nose, with some slight bready malt.
This seems to accomplish what Sloop wanted – it’s a non-offensive light lager. There’s a slight hint of smooth bitterness on the finish, and a grainy and bready malt character. It’s better than the typical light lager, but not really so much better that it’s worth the extra price.
This is light bodied, clean, and very crisp, with a nice drinkability.
I don’t think this is completely necessary, but it was decent enough.

Pretty good, but nothing outstanding. Average looking American lager. Pale and strawlike coloration. Not much to speak of on the nose - just the slightest hint of hops. Decent taste. Detecting some adjuncts. But the hops and barley are there. Not the best mouthfeel for an American lager but still nice and thin - crushable. Overall, nothing bad, but not something i'll revisit with better options all over the area.

Bought two from Beer Drop (who seems to have added many more New England and New York micros lately... and revamped their whole operation to a St. Louis clearinghouse... and thankfully gotten rid of the 32 ounce growlers.)
With half of its 56 check-ins in the last month on Untappd, Premium is a re-work of Sloop's 5 ABV American Lager. Sloop's new Premium Looks average, pale and not attractive. Smells are also average, malt and marginal hops. Pleasantly, Tastes improve and are balanced and offer subtle flavors. I'm reminded of drinking beer as a teenager, except that the bubbles aren't too present in Sloop's rendition. Other than that, it seems like a classic lager that I don't drink too much of... So do I remember for sure? (For your background, see Sloop's YouTube introduction to Premium.)
For my micro-review, I do give Sloop pretty good Overall Hugs. they have restaurant (albeit mostly pizza, burgers and a few efforts to branch into the gastropub realm.) But in looking at their beer menu, I'm not likely to seek Sloop out again... not my styles (Belgians.) Cheers all the same.
6/2/23 Drank the second can with a lunch of leftovers. Suitable. But no change in rating.
